Interesting take. Let's hope some miracle happens and we can play in the Finals over the next two years...

He's right, Kerr would never trade Nash even though we could get great young talent for him

Lets hope injuries plague the likes of Kobe, Pau, Artest, Bynum, Duncan, Ginobli, Parker, Jefferson, Dirk, Kidd, Marion, Billups, Anthony, Roy, Aldridge, Paul, West, Williams, Millsap, Yao, T-Mac. It would make it so much easier for the Suns to make it to the Finals.

The thing is, if Nash to fly to another team and won a championship... he would be an integral part of that championship.

It's much different with a Robert Horry, James Posey type... those guys who might play 12-15 minutes a game.

It would have been one of the greatest sports stories of this generation had Nash & Hill gotten their rings together. Two guys who deserve a ring more than anyone else in the NBA.

You know what though? I think there is a chance that this team could make the Semis, then who knows... this team isn't much different than 05-06.

Exactly. Nash isn't even optimistic about competing. We're a 6th seed at best.

Keeping Nash means we're still contenders. We're a playoff team if we're healthy and we can make some noise and even have a shot at winning it all.

There is no Nash trade we could have made that would have made us a better team.

Best damn Nash quote in a while:

"I don't know if we'll be a contender or not," Nash said. "No one gave us Pau Gasol for nothing. I don't know where we'll be in the pecking order but I'm excited about our team. I really think it'll be a lot of fun and we can surprise some people."

It's true that the odds are against us, but it doesn't really matter. I think part of the reason Nash didn't want to leave was that he didn't want to give up on our SSOL system...and I agree with that. We're just going to run and gun as far as we can, and if we go down, well at least we go down as who we are.

Did anyone read the post in the general discussion in the big ben defender thread, someone there accused Nash of getting too many awards because he was overhyped by the media. Was that a fail or what?

There have always been Nash haters...I don't understand why, I mean I don't think Nash has ever done anything to incite hate. I mean there's people who criticize his defense, which is fine, but some people (who happen to usually be Laker fans) really seem to have something against him.

Nash is my favourite player, but as much as I wanted to see him end his career here, I had hoped he be moved to a real contender. He'll get his ring to back up his individual accolades and maybe we'll get some nice assets back and rebuild properly. Now it just feels like we're in one of those relationships where you're together for the sake of being together. Neither sides really benefits, but we're together.

But Simmons was right, if Nash left, I don't think there's one fan who would blame for not bringing back a championship. If anything it's our FO and owners fault for not managing our roster and finances the right way. Nash had a way out and it's a shame he didn't take the opportunity.

The odds are definitely against us, but I'll keep my hopes up.

I'm one of the few Suns fans that isn't fond of him either. Has to do with his desire to play both ends of the floor and his days with the Mavericks and than showing he doesn't care about winning but that's a story for a different day of the week.

As long as they are legitimate criticisms of his play, that's fine. I'm more referring to the people who insist all his awards are due to hype, or just call him an overrated scrub or some such thing.
