Anyone looking for a running 7 footer to round out the bench? A guy that can play all three front court positions?
A slightly taller more driven Earl Clark?

I take less injured over more driven anyday. And more importantly, why get someone to feed off of a rookie's minutes?

I didn't mean to imply we'd sign him without taking a good look at him or his knees, just that he might be a good addition to our style of play.
In answer to the rookies minutes questions is...our team needs to get better. If Bender is better then you use Bender and let the rookie learn slowly.
How about this lineup during part of the game:
Nash
Richardson
Bender
Clark
Stoudemire
WOW!!!! FAST...lighthing.

if we have a roster spot to fill and noone is available, sure why not I'll give him a Dee Brown type of contract, 1mil vet minimum non-guaranteed.

I would have really like to see Bender playin summer ball, dont have a lot of optimism about his knees, not enough to give him a guaranteed deal.

1 year vet min deal covered by the union is worth giving a spry 7 fotter a 2nd chance. When he was playing he was good. I am sure there are other out there, but if we come out of camp with 13 and haven't even worked this guy out, I will be a little upset. This guy was born for SSOL. Call me drunk or crazy, but I'd like to get him in for a workout to see what he has left in the tank. I keep thinking Grant Hill. Hill's ankles were shot, and now we just signed him up for his 3rd and 4th year of what we thuoght was probably one and done. Aaron Nelson anyone. If he can't do it, no one can.

FTW
He'd make a wicked shotblocker with those arms.

I agree with Phungk and Nevetsov. If Bender B. Rodriguez is available, sign him up. As for Jonathan Bender (who many were pining for the year we drafted Shawn Marion, FYI), I have no interest. Dude can play all 3 frontcourt positions, but none of them at an NBA level.

Cash,
I don't think you actually remember the guy playing (granted he didn't play that many games) but when Bender played, he played very well and showed an amazing potential. I think we should get him in for a workout and see what happens. If the guys knees are no good, or he hasn't worked on his shot while away, forget it, but the guy was born for SSOL and if Aaron Nelso can get his hands on him, then Bender could be a steal. A non-guaranteed deal for 3 years at the min, with team options for the final two years. He carries the risk, we get the reward if he pans out.

Rather take a chance on a need instead of a broken down "potential" player of the pass. I which it could have worked out for him. but why would we sign him again if he did not play in the SL?
Is this just a random thought you had and thought it would be a good idea?

Mostly a passing thought. I think he would be worth a workout. I am afraid that the Suns have all gone on vacation and are willing to start the season as is. Meanwhile we have several options that may make us better being looked at or signed by others. We'll see, maybe I'm just too itchy for a deal, but I don't like it when everybody else is making deals and signings, while we are content to sit back and hope everything turns out okay.
