Yeah he's still 26 and has about 6-8 years left playing at this level. The Suns could strike gold in a draft or through free agency so you never know.

He mentioned this on Twitter and FB. I along with a bunch of others pretty much said if he plays both ends of the court the world will be his oyster. Haha.

If by winning he means a winning record than yes... If by winning he means getting to the 2nd round then no

If I had known about it, I would have taken the chance to let him know that real winners are the ones that sacrifice for the team; meaning that if he is really focused on his legacy and on winning he should focus on improving his man-to-man defense with active hands (not ticky-tack, just bothersome) and foot speed, and secondly look closely at how much money he asks for in his extension. If he really wants to be the man he should come out and say I am willing to cap my salary at $17 million for teh life of my contract to help this team add other players that will make us winners. SOmething like that would come so far out of left field that it might just begin to change people's attitudes about him. He needs to get more selfless acts on record, that will help motivate the team around him, and help him become the leader this team had always hoped he might be.

I would say those two things would help vault him nito the HOF if he were to conquer them.

I love watching players play in their contract year.

Keep your eyes out for an Amare who is going to play to get paid.

Does that include defense and rebounding in his eyes? Stay tuned.

Maybe contract year will open his eyes to what it really means to be a max contract player.

Yeah, he can.

If he stays, we can win.

If he takes a modest salary, we can win.

Everyone who posted hit the nail on the head. For Suns to have a chance to win, we need him to play equally as well and motivated on Defense as he does on Offense. The stars on Championship teams always have two-way players. Duncan, KG, Kobe, Wade etc.

My intent in posting this was that 1) we'd all get a grim laugh our of Amar'e having his feathers ruffled by someone suggesting he D up and 2) without dog-piling on the guy, we could all say much the same thing - Amar'e you are a pure beast, one of the most physically gifted big men to ever play the game, you've come back from what were career-ending injuries to others as an even stronger player. No-one questions your talent or your desire. But the team needs you to play both ends - you said as much yourself last year when you said you wanted to show people the Artest in you.
Well, now's the time. You wanted to be the Man? You are, and this team goes exactly as far was you take them.

maybe we could send a facebook petition

it was mentioned in Sun Tzu's Art of War that you should know your enemy as well as himself
apparently he isn't really too familiar with himself

hopefully under Alvin (the guy Amar'e would love to play under), Amar'e's full potential on defense and the glass will be unleashed
