The original "Highlander" was always a cool movie to watch. Good transitions, and it has Sean Connery in it, how could it go wrong. "Happy Holloween ladies!"

Yes, Hard-Boiled.
Taxi Driver, for sure. A work of art that also kicks ass
(Some other Schrader stuff could be on the list - Light Sleeper is a fine one.)
Red dawn
Way of the Gun

This is a TOUGH movie. Not overly indicative of the Maori people, but just the extreme end of it...
Hard to watch in some scenes, great acting and a brilliantly shot film

Tatstic.... saw that a long time ago.... its 'socially' tough from what I remember. Interesting cultures. You have any other NZ/Aussie films to recommmend... other than the Barometer of BadAss-ness

The Warriors.
Before I got this on DVD it would come on at least once a year, but it usually started at like midnight. If I saw that first scene with the ferris wheel I would stay up and watch the whole movie regardless of what I had on the next day.
