Taylor to be signed eventually...

Post#1 » by Traxxe » Thu Aug 13, 2009 9:35 am

All signs are indicating we are done and will sign Taylor to a cheap deal to fill out the rosters. Money talks with his agent have occurred.

Thats a little disappointing that the best the Suns could do for both Wallace and Pavlovic was waive both of them for cap savings.

Many teams use expiring or non guaranteed contracts to improve themselves but because Robbie Sarver was like many Americans - I'll worry about the balloon payment tomorrow - well it came do and now he has basically "short sold" the Suns.

I didn't mind the Shaq trade for financial reasons as the initial deal netted some $4m in total dollar savings and then waiving either Pavlovic or Wallace. But I really think the Suns are missing the boat if they don't use the pavlovic contract now to improve the team

And if the Taylor is Taylor Griffin - what a waste. They need a guy that can add 6 fouls to Lopez 6 fouls.,

I too am disappointed. Not because we're fleshing out our roster with a rookie contract (that's a good thing), I'm just disappointed it's Taylor. It's not likely he's gonna get much if any playing time at all which is fine if he's like out 13th man, but i just wished we had picked someone else in the draft. Brother Griffin wasn't even mocked in any of the mock drafts, his potential is low and his skills right now isn't really what we're looking for. I just have no idea why we picked him.

I'd be so much happier if we had picked up a raw unpolished player with potential so maybe down the line he could be a 7th or 8th man.

Who was the PG who looked good on our Summer League team? Zabian Dowdell? Am I even close on the name? Anyway, I'd have preferred him. Or a big body, even though any big body available would be just a stiff.

I just know that numbers have been discussed. Not sure to what extent. Not sure on a timeline. There is no immediate need to get it done now so I'm sure it will not be rushed.

Typical... yeah, they save money but he fills no need for the team whatsoever.... I'd much rather have a Salim Stoudamire or Brian Skinner.

What is it, two more weeks until Pavs can be combined with another player in a trade? On top of that his agent came out and said he has the green light from the suns to find a team like he was a free agent so that they can possibly work out a S&T.......... at this point I don't see pavs ever putting on a suns uni so there will be another move, if that is a trade or a S&T, or just waiving him, we still will need to add a player, now that doesn't mean that in the end, it won't be Taylor, but that would be the very last alternative in my opinion.............

dude... its not like he HAS to give us anything. he's just telling us what he hears. its obvious that the suns aren't doing anything and this is the only news he's heard. be grateful he tells us anything or don't say anything at all if u don't like what he says

Eh not the best choice but not the worst either, if a guy like Lou Amundson can make the team a guy like Taylor Griffin definately should be able to make the team.

Every team has a non contributing 13th man.... some have more than one. I think the Suns are looking for a player who will be OK with a season in the D-League. Signing a big stiff like Skinner, on face value looks good, but all he'd do is take minutes away from Frye, Lou, Dudley, Lopez... all guys who need playing time JUST to see if they WILL be valuable. The sooner we find out their contribution levels, the sooner we can make the 'what looks like to me' necessary mid-season adjustments.

Yes that's him, saw him play a few times in SL and he looked great. More athletic than Dragic and looked a lot more comfortable handling the ball. Would've liked him to be the backup to Nash but of course they'll go with the draft pick. Too bad
