Another ridiculous trade thread...

First off...
Q-Rich got traded yet again to the Heat for Mark Blount. Dude is like a high class stripper, everyone wants a piece, but no one wants to pay him.
Now since everyone is still on the "We should trade Jason Richardson" bandwagon, I decided to think of a new trade for J-Rich.
How about Jason Richardson for Udonis Haslem and James Jones (if needed, could add Dorell Wright and bargain the second round pick we got from Cleveland in exchange as well).
Since I don't believe Wade is gonna wanna stay in Miami just because they got Q-Rich, how about giving them the better Richardson instead? Miami is in desperate need of a SF, which I'm assuming, that is why they got Q. Also, since the Heat lost a big already in Blount, maybe we should give them Lopez too.
So the Heat would then have...
Chalmers/Quin
Wade/Cook
J-Rich/Q-Rich
Beasley/Magloire
O'Neal/Lopez
Now onto the Suns.
For most of you here, you would love to lose Richardson for a big, yet we all know Sarver doesn't want to commit to a big long-term for big money. So we trade Richardson for Haslem (8mil) and James Jones (4mil). Now Junior has a longer-term contract, however, after this season his contract is on a team option, which means we can cut him (he probably has a 2 mil guarantee if cut though). So this would be Sarver's best wet dream. If we leave the trade at Jason Richarson and Robin Lopez for Haslem and Jones it also cuts salary by a few mil, giving Sarver yet again some more money.
Haslem would be a decent sidekick to Amare in the paint. He has a semi-decent shot from beyond 5 feet, but he does everything Amare doesn't do, including rebounds and post defense. His height might be an issue but he doesn't lack defensive intensity like Amare.
So the Suns roster looks like this.
Nash/Dragic
Barbosa/Jones
Hill/Dudley/Clark
Haslem/Frye
Amare/Amundson
Jones is more of a SF which might create an issue, because we would be stacked at SF, but I think he could do fine at back-up SG. Just needs to work on his ball-handling. Barbosa starting full-time might make him an all-star (or close to it). He puts up beast stats when he starts, only concern is, the bench quality. All the bench players are solid role players, but none can really create their own shot like Barbosa could which might create yet another issue.
All-in-all, I was bored, summer is going slow, season needs to start already...

I would do this trade pretty easily, doubt Miami wants to take on J-Rich's contract for 2 2010 expirings. Moving J-Rich for a big man should be the ideal step. LB is better than him in nearly every facet of the game and he usually performs better starting.

No way J-Rich is a top 10 SG in the league

Fixed
JRich is better than about half of the league's shooting guards, he might be top 10, but its his contract that bugs everyone.

I AM BETTER THAN YOU BECAUSE I PURCHASED THE LATEST BASKETBALL VIDEO GAME IN THE 2K SERIES WHILE YOU ARE STILL PLAYING THE PREVIOUS EDITION.

"u still play 2K8? lol" reeks of the sentiment I outlined above.

Or we can talk about video games instead of what the topic was originally intended for

lol yes I do, I'm currently (and have been for as long as i can remember) economically crippled. I'm a teen with a part time job, and no way parents would ever feel that the latest 2k bball game is essential to my proper functioning as a productive member of society.
Jason Richardson is a monster in that game, with a A- potential rating, a 99 dunk rating, and good shootin skills. He's unguardable when under user control lol
Seems like every videogame has a certain play or move you can always beat the computer with lol i remember 2k5, on defense, you took your PG to the foul line, the opposing G would drive, and you could take the charge, foul him out in the first quarter, and get every possession back lol
And every football game is a piece of cake with a fast QB

Sasha and Tucker for Shane Battier.
Suns have exactly 13 guys on the roster.
Nash/Dragic/Barbosa
Richardson/Barbosa/Battier
Hill/Dudley/Battier/Clark
Frye/Clark/Amundson
Amare/Lopez/Amundson

Miami won't do it. I'm positive Mia is going to do whatever they can to keep Wade and if that means clearing space (Q's expiring) to pick up another good FA to keep Wade then that's what they will do. JRich eats into their 2010 space and is primarily an SG. Trading for JRich would be a clear message to Wade that the MIA organization has NO intentions of keeping Wade.
Which is like saying JRICH>>>WADE.

That would be nice, but since we're not contending (the roster speaks for itself) I'd rather give PT to develop Clark than take on Battier and Starver can get his financial relief from buying out Pavs. What I do like about the trade is that both Battier and Clark can play PF so that would give us a bit of versatility.
I'm still not liking the idea of playing Amare at the 5 though. If we make a trade for Pavs + Tux we should get a C back imo.

Love to see it but why would Houston ever say yes?
Battier is exactly who we need
And the elusive, defensive big who stays out of the lane on offense ...

Man, Battier would be basically the Suns dream come true, if they could pull a trade for Richardson though, what is the point of benching Battier behind Barbosa.. He'd have to be a starter..

If we got battier, he'd probably start ahead of Hill. I don't see the Suns moving in a direction where Hill is benched.

What's Battier's contract like?

Battier has like 6.9 mil per year for two years. So this trade would make sense for the Rockets because they might be trying to look for expiring contracts.
Battier would not start over Grant Hill. He was fine being benched for Ron Artest, and if anything the Suns can mix up their lineup and have Battier start with Nash, Richardson, Hill, and Amare. The Suns can run a zone and see if that works.
And the Suns aren't trading Richardson. Again, many of your judgements are clouded by the fact that Richardson has a huge contract. The reason the Suns pulled for Jason Richardson is because he can create his own shot and it gives Nash a break of dribbling, and it opens up the court more as well. Watch when Richardson becomes a 20 and 6 player.
Anyways Battier would be a nice addition but he might take away minutes from Earl Clark, which I don't want to do. Again, I'd rather the Suns get Keith Bogans, a player that doesn't mind being benched but he can come in the game, play decent defense and shoot the three ball. Plus he shoots the corner three.

Also. Look for players like Rafer Alston, Etan Thomas, Kurt Thomas, Steven Hunter to get waived or cut before the trade deadline. These players are in their last year and the teams they play for will most likely not be making the playoffs so they'll try and cut salary. The Knicks, if they don't make any trades might try and cut Eddy Curry and Al Harrington, I doubt it because they contribute on the court, but the Knicks always make questionable calls. Al Harrington would fit in with the Suns. Suns could pull a trade of Sasha and Tucker for Harrington, throw in the Shaq trade exception and it would work financially. If the Suns intend on keeping Sasha around til February it may prove to be useful. By that, I mean, if the Suns are playing well, Kerr might make a trade to improve the roster, but as of right now, I think Kerr is waiting to see what this roster can do.
