Question About Shaq Trade To Cleveland

Hey guys,
As you know, Shaq was traded to Cleveland right before the draft for Ben Wallace and Sasha Pavlovic, passed his physical and the Suns bought out Ben Wallace's contract.
HOWEVER, Pavlovic has yet to take his physical or be traded or waived.
So can't this trade technically still fall through if Pavlovic fails his physical if the Suns decide to keep him?
They haven't waived his physical requirement yet, and I REALLY want to see Shaq/LeBron next year, but I'm kind of nervous about Pavlovic potentially failing his physical.
Is there a deadline in terms of when a player can take his physical after a trade? It's been TWO MONTHS and no news about him.
Should I be worried the deal still might fall through?
Thanks.

I think the deal is 100% done.

they don't have press releases and press conferences for nothing
http://www.nba.com/suns/news/shaq_traded_090625.htmluse some common sense, teams can't just hold off on a physical for weeks and weeks. makes no sense at all.

But how can it be done without Pavlovic passing the physical or the Suns waiving the physical requirement?
Neither has happened.
And he hasn't been waived even though it's bee two months since they got him in that trade.
So technically and officially, the trade is not done and I'm getting nervous.
Or has the deadline passed for Pavlovic to take and pass his physical?
Thanks.
I'm kind of nervous that this deal still might fall through.
Or is there no chance it falls through?

Remember, deals have fallen through in the past due to failed physicals.
For example, Tyson Chandler to Oklahoma City fell through when he failed his physical.
Richard Jefferson had his press conference after being traded to the Spurs BEFORE Kurt Thomas took and passed his physical.
Just because Shaq was introduced at the press conference, doesn't mean the deal is completely done.
What's going on with the Pavlovic situation?
Perhaps Phoenix starts regretting their decision to trade Shaq and somehow the deal falls through?

The (1st) Tyson Chandler trade had a press conference, and it was rescinded after the physical. But of course, the Thunder actually wanted Tyson to play, whereas Pavlovic is strictly seen as cap relief for PHX. His physical condition shouldn't matter.
TD, how do you KNOW that Pavlovic hasn't yet taken his physical? After all, it could have been done without so much as a local blurb in the paper. I don't think you need to worry.

But why hasn't he been released yet? It's been TWO months!
If he took his physical, we would have known by now.
I still have a bad feeling this deal will fall through.

I already told you in the other thread when you asked Traxxe what's up.
If the deal has a chance to fall through, we could not have bought Wallace out because we don't have the rights to his contract if Pavs wasn't included in the deal. Taken that Wallace has been bought out and is already with another team with another contract , there's no way the trade could fall through.
Stop trying to look for loop holes and technicalities and get over it. The deal is done.

physicals are a kind of insurance for the receiving team and can be waived accordingly.

Rest easy dude. David (F-n) Stern wants to see the Bron and Shaq show this yr. Sarver wants to save money. And the Cavs need a boost for Bron.... no way anyone renegs.

Pavlo will get 1.5 mil regardless and in addition to whatever he may sign for. If he has received NO VALID OFFERS, then it really makes no difference when we release him, as long as it is before the contract 'guarantee' date, which I think is in October.
There are not many openings across the league... and a SG is the easiest to find.

He hasn't been released because the un-guaranteed portion of his contract doesn't become guaranteed for a few more months, they'll probably use him until his contract guarantee deadline comes then cut him.

Well, if they're going to use him in terms of playing him, then he HAS to pass the physical unless they waive the requirement which they HAVE NOT done yet for some weird reason.
If he fails the physical, the deal is off.
They immediately waived the physical requirement for Ben Wallace, but not so far for Pavlovic.
I REALLY want to see Shaq/LeBron next year, but I keep worrying the deal will fall through over the Pavlovic issue regarding his physical.

The deal cannot fall through. The contract buy-out with Wallace is already finalized, that means we HAVE to take on Pavs contract.
The buyout can NOT be done if the trade is not finalized.

Last question from me on this issue:
How do you know that the buyout can't be done if the trade isn't finalized?
Where in the NBA rule-book does it say that? Do you have a link?
Thanks.
I'm not trying to sound rude or be annoying.
I'm just interested in how you know that the buyout can't be done unless the deal is finalized.
Thanks!

Are you for real? Like do you really think Pavlovic could fail a physical, then Ben Wallace will go back to Cleveland (lest we forget, he signed with the Pistons). Do you really think that can happen?

What's so unrealistic about it? If the deal falls through, then all players involved go back to their original teams.

The Suns can't waive a player they don't have. The fact that anything was done after the trade shows that the Shaq move is finalized, a resolution was reached.
