Arroyo?

Anyone insterested in getting Arroyo?

I was said to see him leave the league a couple of years ago. I think he would be great for PHX. He is a PG with some flash that plays with an edge. He could provide some good minutes off the bench to alleviate Nash. His jumpshot isn't as good as Nash's but he is great driving to the hole, and he can hit his shots fairly well. He would have some great finishers to play with here also. Thoughts?

Grab Jackson for Pavs and Tucker also and put him at the 3 behind Hill

Nash/ Arroyo/ Dragic
Richardson/ Barbosa
Hill/ Jackson/ Dudley
Stoudemire/ Clark/ Amundson
Frye/ RoLo

That would be fun to watch, and could compete very well.

I thought for sure there would be a thread on this somewhere, but didn't see one. If there is feel free to merge. Thanks.

Did Arroyo grow to be 7ft and learn how to play good defense? Because that is what we need right now, not another PG. But if he did grow to be 7ft. and got better at D then sign him up.

This isn't the NFL, an NBA team doesn't need more than 2 players at each position unless its at the SF position (which we are already stacked at). We only have one Center, hence we need a Center, and that's it.

Sure why not, wouldn't hurt to have some extra PG depth

Arroyo is a serviceable PG who would add depth to our PG spot. I still don't like the idea of Dragic being our only back up point if Nash gets injured.

But right now I'd say our main need is a true center.

I think Stoudemire will see significantminutes at center again this year playing alongside Clark, or in a small-ball lineup with Duds or Hill at the 4 spot. We could go grab Sene, Swift, or some other stiff.

Sticking to the topic, though, I think Arroyo would be great here. I was a little surprised that ORL didn't go after him considering his history there and their need for a backup PG before they signed Williams.

last season it would've been a good signing. but this year, we're keeping dragic so we might as well play him significant minutes and hope he turns out halfway decent. arroyo would just take his minutes away. face the facts, we arent going to be a legit contender this year so dragic can play good minutes

Dude is a chucker. No thanks. Also doesn't like coming off the bench even if he gets starters minutes.

Never fear, his shooting numbers aren't terrible. 45% from the field and 35-38% from 3 is pretty respectable. He might be able to be had for the vets min on a one year deal. If he shoots he's scoring fairly well, and he is a decent leader. Signing him wouldn't preclude PHX from adding another big-guy or maybe trading for one. I would love to figure out how to get Gortat out of ORL.

His career numbers are actually 43% FG and 32% 3P%, but that is either here nor there. He also only has a career average of 3.3APG, this bothers me from a PG. I watched him in Orlando many, many times and he is more interested in scoring than getting his team mates involved and also makes a lot of stupid decisions with his shot selection. The only reason Orlando held onto him for as long as they did, which was only 3 years is because of their large Puerto Rican population.

Yeah, I seem to recall Orlando fans absolutely hating him. Must be pretty old now too.
