Dragic is a back up for Slovenia too

Wait a second...I thought Dragic was the second best point guard in his draft? Am I missing something? He can't even start for his own country. Who knew they even played basketball over there. If he can't even start on his own national team how in the world is he supposed to be our point guard of the future? This is embarrassing.

He was 3rd string when we drafted him. This is no secret.

Hey now...Dragic is the Suns best defensive point guard and is the only PG on the Suns that tries to play defense. Would much rather see him starting than a certain other guy that doesn't play defense and only cares about having fun.

Did someone really just suggest that we start Dragic over Nash? I really can't explain how dumb that sounds on so many levels.

Dragic had a knee injury just a week or so ago. It is not unheard of for a guy to come off the bench after knee stiffness.

Also, was the starter for Slovenia in last year's draft? :noway:

PG's who only plays D and can't do anything else is a dime a dozen. PG's who can do what Nash does, there's only one.

Dragic was injured. Dragic is still young. Slovenia is a very good intl team with very good intl players. Nash is ten times better then Dragic ever will be. The Suns are a decent team without Amare, but suck without Nash. Team Canada sucks without Nash. You suck without logic.

Consider this a public warning for personal insults. Totally unnecessary

The kid has natural ability, he just doesn't have the confidence yet.

It's completely different growing up in Slovenia as opposed to the US. Over here, if you're future NBA PG material and on a decent college team you're treated like royalty. In a lot of scenarios, you would at least become very cocky/confident on the court.

All the kid needs is to get frustrated/mad a few times in order to have him go off successfully on the other team. Once he sees that he can play or outplay some in this league his confidence will start to climb.

Hater..
Slovenija is a top 5 European team, with great playmakers(Lakovič, Udrih, Dragič)
And USA, the world champions are simply the best, right?
Oh wait.. They are not champions..

I'd be careful with the rather large brush-strokes you seem to be using there, friend....

Here's what I know about FIBA...

1. They allow hand-checking
2. They share the same 3pt distance with the WNBA
3. Physicallity is relegated to flopping, which is rewarded
4. There is no goaltending
5. They just dropped "amatuer" from their title in 1989

Oh, and to the point about the World Champions bit... just becase FIBA alternates with the Olympics doesn't mean that Spain is still the better team. By the way, FIBA started the World Championship in 1970.... the Olympics have been around since the 8th centruy BC.

Get over yourselves.

I should point out that the US National team has to adapt to International rules when playing in tournaments. It would be a joke to watch international teams try and adapt to NBA rules.

I am not Slovenian at all but I find this comment very inappropriate.

My friend, I belive we do have goaltending or you maybe you just don't know what goaltending means in Fiba rules, so much about your Fiba rules knowledge.... Meanwhile, once a ball hits the rim it can be touched (swatted, grabbed, I love this rule). Doing that in the NBA will be goaltending. I see why you don't like flopping (Spurs) but looks like it bring champisonships (again Spurs) but if a player is not physicly capable of guarding other player and he resorts to something that is not against the rules he can do it as far as Fiba, NBA, WNBA is concerned.

We just dropped amateur status like 20 years ago and we Europeans have been schooling your NBA pros for a decade... hmm... something to worry about?
Nothing personal mate but it was just very irritatting to read a coment by a poster who doesnt know if basketball is played in Slovenia and yet he calls himself a B-ball fan.

1) And?
2) Means nothing. Most kids also turn pro at 17, where NBA guys would still be using highschool 3 pointers. And most Euro shooters in the NBA are better 3 point shooters then the average American Pro Baller.
3) 1 and 3 dont go together...
4) Yes there is.
5) So did the Olympics.

I think you better slow your roll there buddy..............
First of all, none of your teams in whatever third rate league you guys play in would survive in the NBA, especially your Slovanian national team, you would get handed you rear ends........
Second, if the USA wasn't the best in the world, why do all you inferior nations players try so hard to just make it to the NBA in the USA ?????
Third, need I remind you what happens when we send our best pro players not our college players against your so called pro's, to compete in these tournaments ??? You all get spanked !!!!
All the players in the world, if they think they are good enough, try and make it in the NBA (USA) because it is the best in the world............I don't see everybody trying to make in your Slovanian leagues or anywhere else..........they ALL try and make it here IN THE USA !!!!
