Saw this on the general board...

Have a problem with the fact that Rondo = 87 while Nash and Kidd = 80

That's a cosmic joke.

I wonder what they base the ratings off of? Because if they go on pure stats, then Nash, Hill, Barbosa, Richardson should be the same as they were last year.

All the players ratings dropped drastically. Theres some rotation players who are 50's now.

Terrible rating by 2K people.

Frye same as Taylor Griffin?
Dudley worse than Amundson and Clark?

Joke, right?

For this reason, I may get Live 2010 instead.

But, good news: 2K updates rosters every week based on trades or player improvements. If a guy like Frye, for example, starts and gets loads of pts/reb then the roster updates will automatically boost him.

Cool,

I didn't know that the roster ratings got updated automatically every week. That is a nice feature. Having Frye as the same level as one player that has only played in like 10 games his whole career and one that hasn't even seen the floor yet seems very harsh for a guy who was a lottery pick a few years back.

Yeah Live does the same updating thing as well I believe. I think they update every day now, not sure though?

The rating is a bit poor but they should fix when the season begins.

Yeah they both update. Ratings isn't a good way to choose which game to buy IMO, first because of the updates but second because you need to play the game with each player - overall ratings don't mean terribly much in any sports video game. You have to look at the breakdown, maybe Duds is good in important categories and just has something random like low stamina, poor hands, etc.

Looking at ratings to choose which game to buy would be a poor way to decide. That's like choosing between two cars solely on how bright their headlights are. For one, that's only one small part of the car and two, it can be changed.

I've watched but haven't played the demos of both games, and I think the off court presentation of 2K has really improved from 2K9. Only issue I had with 2k9 was with the Association. There was only about 8 variations of faces, and 3 body types for the computer created players. At one time I had like 3 starters on my team with the same face, it was horrid. Hopefully they could add more variety.

That Nicka, if you have all the ratings for every player typed out can I have a copy of them sent to me? Out of all the published ratings I've seen yours look the best. Thanks.

I only really have issue with KG and Pierce ranked too high...individually they've slipped, but that Celtics team is beastly...Also Iverson's a tad high, same with Carter - better than Nash, Butler, Boozer, DWest, Billups, DHarris? I always have to adjust people's dunk ratings in these games, and jumping too.

Other than that, very accurate - nice work Nicka
