Dragic Clark and Frye

Post#1 » by sunsfever68 » Thu Oct 8, 2009 7:48 pm

These guys in my opinion will be the most telling in deciding how much depth we have and how good we'll be.

These are some stat lines I'd like to see these guys have

Dragic

20 minutes 6 points 4 assists 1 steal 2 rebounds

Clark

15 minutes 5 points 4 boards .5 block .5 steal great defense

Frye

30 minutes 12 points 7 boards 2 3's a game maybe a block a game

Frye is going to be essential in spacing the floor and creating space for Amare and J rich and Hill to attack the basket. The player I'm most excited about to see with that extra room is not Amare ( he can score from anywhere shooting jumpers, driving, finishing and 1 in traffic or not) it's J Rich. I think he'll benefit from having no Shaq in the middle and taking his man off the dribble and finishing close to the basket.

A play I expect to see a decent amount is Nash driving to the bucket dishing to Frye who's man sagged to guard Nash, the defense is slow to get to Frye he either shoots the 3 or swings the ball across the floor to J rich, Barbosa, or Hill and then they get to attack the basket on a rotating slow defense. If Frye can knock down the outside shot we'll be doing well. I don't want Frye always on the perimeter though. I'd like to see him with his back to the basket sometimes some pick and pop some elbow jumpshots.

You're gonna see the stat Nash picknroll with about 38 different outcomes. It's going to be deadly effective so get used to it :)

Dragic should play between 15-20 minutes a game, have somewhere around 8-10 points, 3-5 assists, 2 rebounds, and 1 steal a game and I'll be happy

Those are stats you'd like to see them have?

Other then Frye you pretty much posted their WORST CASE SCENARIO stats.

You'll be pleased if Clark and Dragic combine for 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in 35 minutes?

Dude, two 3's a game is a lot. Nash didn't even do that last year.

I think you skipped over Dudley and possibly RoLo.

Our X-Factors are Dragic, Clark, Frye, Duds, RoLo

All of them have a big hand in our success. We know what to expect from everyone else, but these guys all have big upside

I picked Dudley for most improved, and I think he can get some votes at least - seems Anthony Randolph will have it sewn up...

Duds I expect 7-10pts, 4-6reb, a few assists and steals, and 100x 3s, and 24mins per
RoLo...meh...if we get 4 and 4 with a block I'll be ok
Lou, same as last year...

Sounds pretty reasonable. Yeah RoLo isn't gonna fill up the stat sheet but he really needs to be able to provide some rebounding/D behind Frye for our center rotation to work so I think he's still somewhat important...

If everything goes right with Dragic, I am expecting 8 pts, 5 assists, and 2 boards a game from him in about 20 mins a game. He put up 6/2/2 under Gentry in about 14 mins avg. I expect his assists to take the biggest leap considering he played off-ball a lot last year.

Clark right now is an enigma, need to see more of him in actual games. I hope Frye does well in this system, his stoke looked nice in the first game. At worst, he just has to be some kind of threat 15 feet away from the basket. 12 pts, 6-7 rbs, and maybe a 3 a game.

I agree with Tastic about Dudley. I think he is going to be the most improved player on the roster this year. I expect him to be a leader by example on the floor when the 2nd unit comes in.

I agree. I see Dudley being a 10 point and 5 rebounds player. He'll take more threes this year so his field goal % should be around 45-46%. He's a good defender so he deserves time despite having no real go to moves on offense. He's a great role player. I think he could be a top reserve on a good team.

I think Dragic sees around 20 minutes a game this year and puts up 8 points, 3 rebounds and 4-5 assists. I think people will be surprised to see that he is a good shooter if given consistent time. Or maybe people already know that, I dunno.

Amundson will probably be used like he was during Gentry's reign. I'm thinking 6 points and 5 rebounds a game.

Earl Clark will be around 8 points and 5 rebounds. RoLo, when healthy, will be a 5 and 3 player who averages a block and takes up space on defense. I also think there will be games that he can't get on the court, but he'll play in most.

Jeez those are big expectations for Dragic to get 5 assists off the bench in 20mins...find a PG that did that last season

Big expectations?

8 points, 3 rebounds and 4-5 assists is big?

Considering Dragic averaged:

8 points 3.5 assists and 3 rebounds in 18 minutes in the month of April when he finally started getting minutes. That was at the end of a shaky ROOKIE season.

You're telling me you don't think he can get 1.5 more assists in 2 more minutes when given consistent playing time in his 2nd year? Doesn't seem like a huge leap to me.

Of course I did say 4 or 5. 4 being more realistc, but I do think 5 is possible. This team is going to run and assists won't be hard to get.

ye I think we are overlooking dudley but if dudley is on 3 and clark is on 4. I think that may help his rebounding numbers. I think Frye will prolly get you 5 RPG. Dragic prolly get 4 assists and maybe 4 rebounds. I think hustle will be important for these guys. Dragic is a decent rebounder and frye just needs to protect the paint. As long as he prevents the other big man from dominating, I couldnt care less about his RPG. Dragic and Clark too.

Dragic: 6~7 points / 3.5-4 assists / 2-3 rebounds ~20 mins a game

Clark: (good chance he will struggle early, maybe pick his game up 3/4 towards the season, as he gets stronger and gets use to the NBA.

No stat prediction.

Frye: 12~14 points / 6 rebounds / 1 assists / 0.75 blocks / 0.5 steals ~30 mins a game

Doubt J-Rich, Hill, Amare, Frye, LB, Dudley and Dragic averages anything close to that many assists a game.
