Richardson for Stephen Jackson (trade idea)

Post#1 » by sunsfever68 » Sun Oct 11, 2009 7:36 pm

Just a trade idea.

Checked espn trade machine and it works if you do

Richardson to golden state

Stephen Jackson to phoenix
Speedy Claxton to phoenix

Claxton is in the last year of his deal he'd be an expiring contract Jackson could light it up here in the run and gun I know his attitude isn't great but winning changes alot of things and I like his defense better than J rich. I think that's a fair deal the Warriors wouldn't pass up. It would free us of Richardson's huge contract and give us a guy who can get same points same 3's more defense less money.

You think golden state does that? We could throw in tucker or griffin or a 2nd round pick for incentives.

Jackson just signed a terrible extension that makes him an automatic no for me.

isn't it for 7 million a year or did espn not update it? I checked his salary and he's making like 7.5 mil a year that's not too bad. Or is it more? When you consider Richardson is making 13 million per thats alot.

How about keep J-Rich and instead trade Barbosa for Jackson?

i'd be interested. That would give the warriors like 5 players all 6'3 monta ellis steph curry barbosa morrow they're tiny.

S jax off the bench would be nice. Barbosa is a really likeable guy here but I sometimes question his decision making and his shot selection can be poor at times. He's best when he comes off the screen puts the ball on the floor once then pulls up for a jumper in rhythm. He still overdribbles and doesn't find guys cutting. I wouldn't be opposed to trading barbosa for the right person. Dont' mind keeping him either he can still get hot at the right time.

jackson would be an upgrade defensively which would be nice

I'd have to agree, I just don't like the guy at his contract value. And I definitely don't like his attitude either.

I think he's owed more money overall. Richardson's contract sucks too, but he expires more quickly, he's younger, and he doesn't seem like a complete maniac. In fact I think I like Jackson more than Richardson but for a "rebuilding"/"not really contending" team, I think the 26 million Richardson is owed>28 million Jackson is owed over the next few years.

No way. LB is actually more valuable to this team than J-Rich is. He is also making half as much as J-Rich.

you guys overvalue barbosa too much. He's good but let's be honest here. He's an undersized 2 guard who doesn't really get others involved that much isn't a great passer or defender and makes questionable decisions. I like the guy off the bench I do he has a nice salary but he's worth that salary he's not worth more than that. Now if Barbosa averaged 5 assists a game didn't turn the ball over as much I'd like it more and if he played a little better D. He hurts us when he gets into his tunnel vision mode. I understand he's the primary scorer off the bench but I want to see better decision making out of him and better passing.

By the way off topic but thank God cardinals up 21-0 first half. Fitzgerald with 2 td's lets go

Ideally due to his size we'd like to see better PG skills, but as a 2 guard, he produces better than Richardson for a fraction of the price.

Orlando would never do this, you don't just give up the best pure shooter ever to grace the NCAA without getting an allstar back

Finally I see someone that feels that same way. I love Barbosa but pass the ball for a change.. Getting Stephen Jackson for Barbosa would be a def. steal for the Suns, but Warriors already have Curry and Ellis, they don't need Barbs. Jrich for Sjackson... Hmmm.. maybe?

Barbosa has a great contract, production for that value doesn't come around very often. No way Kerr trades him
