KJ Jacked While Visiting SF

Former Phoenix Suns star Kevin Johnson was robbed over the weekend during a visit to San Francisco. The theft occurred while Johnson, now the Mayor of Sacramento, was offering a helping hand to an elderly man.

In a recent blog post the former NBA star reported losing a suit, a pair of shoes and some personal items as a result of the robbery. Johnson was visiting San Francisco to attend a conference with representatives of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

Johnson reportedly saw a man struggling to carry bags near Union Square on Saturday evening and set aside his belongings for less than a minute to put him in a taxi. When he turned back to get his things, they were gone.

Johnson joked about the incident to Sacramento's KCRA-TV. He said he plans to tell the story to San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom next time they meet and assure him that the same thing won't happen to Newsom when he comes to Sacramento.

KJ: Still classy after all these years. 8-)

God, I love this team. Can you imagine someone from Portland saying, "yeah one of our old players is now a public figure." You know it'd mean they were in jail.

the only public figure that I know who played in portland who gets any publicity nowadays is big ol' horse teeth himself aka Bill Walton.

Remember him? the guy who always blasted us when we were on our title runs? the guy who never had anything positive to say about us?

Pure class KJ. Any chance you can unretire and play backup point for us haha

Actually... funny you should mention that.

Chris Dudley, a former blazer, apparently is thinking about running for governor of Oregon. (although technically he's also a former suns player as well...)

I heard that Clyde Drexler was on Dancing with the stars... apparently that's a big deal these days...

I poke fun but the truth is if Barkley, thunder dan or almost any other former sun was on it I'd probably check it out.

What kind of a ridiculous cheap shot is that?

a) Nobody in Portland likes Bill Walton, at least not since the late '80's. Especially because his son is on the L*kers.
b) You think we LIKED having Ruben Patterson, or Darius Miles, or Zach Randolph? Yeah, we were crapping ourselves wanting to have our picture taken next to those upstanding gentlemen.
c) You've obviously never heard of Kevin Duckworth, who was an influential community figure in Portland before his death (and while his weight problem was unfortunate, he was a positive figure in the region.) You didn't consider Terry Porter (whose defensive coaching style was known in advance by you guys. If you wanted run-and-gun, you shouldn't have hired him), or Buck Williams, or Clyde, Jerome Kersey, Cliff Robinson, Brian Grant (who you well know is running a foundation for Parkinson's disease, and was my favorite Blazer while he was here), Arvydas Sabonis, or any of the other retired Blazers that we fans actually respected.

Portland had a run of crap years, no doubt, and KJ is a good person. But to mix those two things is just ridiculous. I'm sorry that your team went from the top to the bottom so fast, but take it out on your management who scuttled away all of your talent for nothing in return. You know what happened when the Blazers f'ed everything up? Management changed. Maybe you should be calling for the same.

By the way, I am a huge Suns fan, and I am genuinely sad to think that you guys could have been title contenders for years. Now you have to start over. We in Portland know the feeling all too well.

-Brandon

P.S. How can you argue with this?

The portland thing was obviously a joke

We had Brian Grant more recently

And yes a management change was clearly in order for you with the poor character judgment that was going on..if you hadn't changed management you'd probably have
Delonte West
Michael Beasley
Shawne Williams
JR Smith
etc

Oh, and if you think we haven't been constantly calling for our management's head on a silver platter you are mistaken

Add Stephen Jackson and Stephon Marbury to that list and you've got a championship contender

:o
