Get Ready For Collins On Monday

In the spirit of Suns just hours away from picking up a new backup center, let's allow a few moments to check out what YouTube has to offer of Jarron Collins. (Barring another team doesn't pick him up since 17 other teams have priority over Suns on Monday morning)

Jarron is my hometown hero. He was born in Northridge, CA - where I went to college. He is a very intelligent player with high IQ, no slang talk, no tattoos, high character Jerry Sloan school of thought. He is the kind of character Suns like.

From all indications, he is a fan favorite and a teammate favorite since all the Jazz players (Deron, Boozer) are rooting for him to be on a team and keep texting him. Search: Salt Lake Tribune for that article about Collins being the best teammate.

Any case, here are some mind blowing clips of arguably the world's greatest backup center in the history of the NBA:

Jerry Sloan doesn't like tattoos, therefore, I don't either.

If Jerry doesn't like something, then it must be correct.

It is not a rumor. It is a fact that if nobody picks up Collins by Monday, the Suns are going to pick him up because he is the one they want.

That's what the 9th paragraph says: http://www.azcentral.com/sports/suns/ar ... swoes.html

meh... merely an insurance policy for the C spot. He'll get the garbage minutes when we are blowing other teams out. :P

Oh and 6 more fouls...

Nice clips Sunsman.... May I have some pancakes to go with that syrup ?

I have no real feeling for this supposed addition. Its a pity the need has been accelerated due to Lopez's pata. Frankly, I do not think we will see much a difference between the two.

I would hope we continue with the thought of a mid season trade/adjustment.... and I would guess, if Collins contributes, and Lopez returns healthy, the Boy Wonder then also becomes trade chip.

At least Lopez blocks shots...I don't understand when you're 7'0 how you CAN'T block shots?
Surely running around wildly means the ball would hit you in the head 1-2 times a game when a shorter guy shoots it?

7 footers who can't block shots OR rebound bother me...And serve no purpose on the Suns. We already have 2 players who literally can't do anything except collect cheques...this guy may as well chalk up 5 fouls in 15mins a night for the next month.

Can't wait to see

JCollins 14mins 0-1fg 1-2ft 0off reb 2def reb 0asst 0stl 0blk 5pf 1pt

YAY.

Ok my cynicism's done, bring on the season!!!

Hey, it's almost Monday evening and there is no sign of Collins.

What's the deal? I though he was going to come down and save Planet Orange from the evil forces of rebounds and defense.

Good. We really don't need a rebounder as a 12th man - that wouldn't change our rebounding outlook at all. So good to pick up a vet who can come in and position really well on D and bring the intangibles and BBIQ to the table.

Ok, here is the deal:

-As a 12th man, it really doesn't matter if the guy can rebound or not because he is only going to get 8 minutes playing time on the best night anyways. Lopez will be back and thus Collins will be IR or DNP.

-Therefore, if your 12th man is going to hang around the team and not play a whole lot - might as well ensure this new guy has high character, high IQ, great basketball knowledge, great sportsmanship, great work ethic, and great big body for practice squads during off days.

Based on that, Jarron Collins makes the best candidate possible. Great pickup.

God I love the Wiretap...

Suns AWARDED Jarron Collins

LMAO we won something for once!!

Its not really an award if someone gets waived and then proceeds to get passed up by everyone else on the waiver wire, thus falling into the Suns hands.

If Suns have JaRRon Collins,

this begs the question: Where is JaSON Collins? Wasn't he playing for the Nets?
