OT: Where can i get cheap bball shoes??

Post#1 » by MrCheckOne2 » Thu Oct 29, 2009 6:20 pm

So i'm a freshman at ASU, broke to the ground in a million pieces, gotta buy books for spring pretty soon, want an iphone im determined to get (already ATT customer so upgrade for me is like 2 or 3 hundred), and my bball shoes are running on fumes. I feel like i run on concrete barefoot, i get blisters on the bottom of my feet. Do Starburys still exist? My current ones are Proteges..are those still at Kmart?? Anyone know any decent bball shoes, that fit an asphixiated budget?

lol I was just about to mention Starburys. I don't know where to get them anymore sinec Steve and Barrys went out of business I think, but those shoes were cheap as heck. A friend and I went to the mall to check them out; SandB was having a closeout sale, so they were selling each pair for 7 bucks . I now have four pairs of Starburys! I will say this though...I don't recommend them as basketball shoes if you're planning making hard cuts...not much ankle support. I'm mostly in the post so they work fine for me, but I'd say there are definitely much better shoes out there.

Anyways, this didn't really answer your question! Sorry about that.

I havent had the balls to try, but i stumbled upon this site called 35usd.com (http://www.35usd.com/), and they have lots of shoes (most likely to be knock-offs) for cheap!

Anyway the site has over 600 pairs of Jordans, and also has Air Max, Air Force 1's, and Shoxs. All shoes that i posted are under $45. Now i just need the balls to try it out.

Not sure if your looking for shoes in general to walk around in, or to play in? You can't put a price tag on 'cheap' shoes - If your playing ball, you should get something that supports your feet and much more your ankles. Hands down, my opinion are the Hyperdunks. I have 6 pairs, and will never go to anything else ever again. Everyone and there mom's have them now, but I have been mobbing them since they were released in the Olympics. Great ankle support, that was the main reason I purchased them.

Lookin for shoes to play in...as far as ankle support goes, i havent quite noticed a difference. I've been through all kinds of shoes, expensive and brand ones, to cheap ones you get at Ross, and honestly havent had trouble runnin, or gettin injured or nothing like that. Comfort varies a lot, but i dont need to feel as comfy as LeBron or anything. If its comfy enough to run, ill play ball in them. My primary issue, anyway, is durability.

Another question, any particular way im supposed to tie bball shoes?? I heard my whole blisters thing might be cuz i dont know how to tie em lol
