We underrated Jason Richardson

I think many of us were excited about the trade when it happened, just for the simple fact that we made a move, but of course many of us also hated to see Diaw and Bell go. In retrospect, was it a good move? I can't say for sure, because I think Bell and Diaw would thrive under Gentry in this new offense..

But I will say that we probably expected too much too soon from J'Rich....the guy is a player...and he just didn't know our run-n-gun style...sure he had it with GS, but when we got him we had Shaq and our whole chemistry was screwed. J-Rich is a run-n-gun guy that can hit big shots, dunk with the best of them, and was defender of the year in the Big 10.

I think now that he was able to get some time in with the team, he will be a big time stud. We haven't really had a big time stud at the 2 since JJ, and he was still coming into his own at that time. Raja was good, but I think JRich has much more potential...maybe not as much on the defensive side, but I wouldn't be surprised if he became our best defender either..

This team is interesting....I think Nash is playing as good as ever, JRich is a stud, Grant Hill was a premier player and is pretty much back to form, Frye has been a nice surprise spreading the floor, and Amare...we all know he has potential, and I think he might hit it with this group...this is the most similar group he has been with since 2005 when he was a superstud....

I think this team might be very underrated....I certainly hope so.

I'm not sure how you can underrate someone that's average 18.6 pts per game his career.

this is like saying Marion is underrated.

He's been playing defense for 2 games, I don't think it's time to say it was a steal of a trade yet. Dudley is sweet though

I disagree, I think we've rated him about right. The dude can shoot and score, and rebound a little bit, but still makes bonehead plays on both ends of the court. He's a good player, just not worth the money and not as good as a healthy Barbosa. But of course, Barbosa isn't healthy, which makes J-Rich one of the most indispensable guys on the team right now.

I will admit that his D looks better this year than last, but not by much. I know it was D-Wade, but J-Rich looked like a chicken with its head cut off in the first half. When he's focused, he plays solid D, but there's a lot of plays where he's not focused. Again, too many bonehead plays.

Still a good player overall, though.

Marion is underrated. Well, his defense anyway. He's never made an all-defensive team.

i think JRICH can be a JJ type player for us this season, especially the way he played tonight. he hit all the right shots, and stifled wade in the first half.

Wade stifled himself. Dude clearly had no intention of scoring in the first half, and was trying his hardest to set up his teammates and get them into the flow of the game. Unfortunately for him, most of them aren't very good.

Well, Raja is hurt and Diaw is fat, so yes, we got a better deal in that trade as of now. Duds is a stud.

He is a good player, but he got caught up in the flash of his offensive game. If he can play some good D, hits 3's for us and be a slasher, I am happy with what we got. Underrated, I would say no.

That's dumb. You can underrate anyone. Points are not everything.

Well he certainly isn't worth the money, but who is? He is definitely overpaid, but many Suns fans just wanted him gone, and many (according to the responses here) still don't think much of him. I'm just telling people he is underrated. Someone mentioned he has played defense for two games. I'm not going to wait until everyone is convinced he is awesome to make a post, or it would be like making a thread saying LeBron is good. I am saying people probably are not thinking this guy is as good as he is....does that have anything to do with how much money he is making? No

Hopefully J-Rich can prove all the Doris Meow apologists wrong this year.

i don't know what all this hype is about. he's not doing anything out of this world. Yes he's coming around nicely but with our SSOL offense, I need to see JRich at 20/6/4 night in and night out. I'm content right now, obviously, we are 4-0 for the 1st time since the 04/05 season!!!

We're 4-0. Gonna have a few threads like this. With that said i like i've seen from him so far. When he plays like this we're tough to beat.

I think those hating J-Rich are wrong, but wanting to trade J-Rich for a post presence doesnt mean youre hating on J-Rich, It just means you want a post presence more, which was the kind of thing we needed to get over the hump in the playoffs that we still dont have.

Whew! I’m so glad Sunday finally came. It seemed like forever, just waiting for a chance to hit the hardwood. I have really been anticipating the start of this season. We have a lot to prove; to our loyal fans, to the league and to ourselves. We’ve been playing very well first three games and we’re building camaraderie on this team.

I have a lot to prove. To myself and the staff that brought me here. Many have said that I’ve been a solid player that you can count on for 20+ points/game, but haven’t really done anything special since 2002. Well, that may be true to an extent, but this year will be different. I’ve made a personal vow to myself that this year I was going to put everything I have on the court.

I’m going to give Steve (GM) exactly what he thought I would be able to bring to this team. I’m so hungry for victory that I can smell it. This is the year of “The Valley of Suns”. All of you fans that may have slipped away due to our poor performance over the years get ready.

We’re coming out swinging and taking no prisoners!!!

We arrived in Miami today and did a team dinner. Everyone is so focused. Everyone is on board. We are a team. Funny thing though, I had a bit of deja vous today while leaving dinner tonight. It’s amazing how blessed we are in this profession. When we don’t succeed, we can come back the next year and get it right. That’s exactly what we plan to do. As we continue building team chemistry and work out the rough spots, we’re going to make things happen this year.

Thanks for all of your love and support.

He seems like he is really focused and dedicated. I really like our teams chemistry this year. It's going to help us win some games. Especially on the road.

this year's team is as good as Amare and JRich can go. Both have been doing more team oriented things, ya kinda mellowed a bit in a good way, than flashy stuffs. Let's give them more support for their effort!
