My Lebron Nightmare...Pull for the Cavs Suns Fans

Pray! Suns fans that the Cavs win games…lots of them! So the illusion a title this year stops them from trading Lebron James.
I had a nightmare. The nightmare of Lebron as a Laker!
The Cavs had traded James to the Lakers.
It was around the All-Star break in February and the Cavaliers were a respectable, but hardly scary 33-17. Sure they had a shot at the title…a “puncher’s chance” to borrow Kerr’s words… but clearly they were (at a minimum) 4th or 5th in line for the crown. The Shaq experiment was shaky at best.
Cavs management had made the conclusion that Lebron was going to walk and that if nothing was done, the team would be screwed for years and years. They decided to trade him. Rake in what they can. Get him out of the Eastern conference. Only one trade partner fit the requirements of good return and a team where Lebron would ink a new contract. It was the Lakers.
Now, the Lakers were doing fine, and they were on a nice glidepath to a 2nd straight title…but acquiring King James would go far beyond just winning more titles. The marketing boon from getting James would pay off huge, far far beyond winning more championships. Kobe had already won his “solo ring”, so he was onboard. It was a slam dunk…after 30 seconds of thought, the Laker do it!
In “the trade of the century” Cleveland sent Lebron and Ilgauskas to Los Angeles for Pau Gasol, Andrew Bynum, Luke Walton and multiple draft picks.
With this and Shaq’s expiring contract, the Cavs started to rebuild.
(a screen shot from my night terror)
…then my nightmare got worse. The Lakers went on to win every NBA championship up until the “PILF” Palin administration came to a bizarre end in 2016.
8 straight titles!
The "King & I” Lakers render anything the Suns do to just “a nice effort” for nearly a decade. "THE HORROR…THE HORROR"
...OOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Just a nightmare? Maybe so, but I will be watching the Cavs and hoping for wins. Lots of them. I can’t see Lebron staying in Cleveland if they’re so-so. I can’t see Lebron as a Knick with nothing special around him. A New York Net? That’s a stretch. Miami?…eh..maybe?
Somehow, some way I’m afraid he’s going to end up on the Lakers. Then were screwed and for a very long time.
