Early MVP Candidates

http://www.nba.com/2009/news/features/1 ... index.htmlThis is a few days old but I didn't see a topic about it yet nor read any posts regarding it.
I'm surprised to see Nash in there even though the Suns were 4-1. I think it's been more of a Team Effort than Nash being an MVP, but hey, he can take all the credit I guess so the NBA still thinks we have a horrible bench

Nash is playing brilliantly....along with the rest of the boyz! Its hard not to throw him in the mix of top ten mvp canidates. I would be suprised and pissed at the sametime if he wasnt in that conversation.
Think:
1st game: Game winner in LA
2nd game: 20 assists
3rd game: Nash took over the game starting in the third!!!!!!!!!! Giving us the W
4th game: Team was tired
5th game: fantastic preformance against Boston!

yeah, i posted about this in the Boston game thread. i don't think the "experts" watch basketball games at all. i constantly read things about the suns lack of a bench, but every time the bench comes into games they either keep up with the other team, or pick them apart. i think it's just because there aren't any big names coming off the bench (disregarding Barbosa, since he's been out a few games).

Lol we played six games.
But yeah, he definitely stepped it up when we needed him. Not to mention that dagger three against Boston that put them away. That Boston game was too intense, I had to switch between the game and Madden 10 to relieve me.

The media is a giant feedback loop. If one opinion gains traction (even if -- or particularly if -- it's misinformed), it spreads through the media like wildfire, and writers seem to re-spout it mindlessly until everyone assumes it's truth. This is how the idea that the Suns have no bench is so prominent, even though it's a better bench than we've had in a long time.
Sites like Hoopsworld are fantastic at playing their part in this feedback loop.

Frye would definitely win mip over dragic because he starts and plays/contributes a lot more.

I can see it when Nash retires though... Unless he wins 6th man first
Frye might b able to. I'd say 14/7-8 is a pretty big improvement over 4/2. At least by a little bit.
Doc Rivers might have changed the swing of the media by flattering 2 of our most unheralded players who only we as Suns fans know and love. Maybe they'll pull their heads out of their butts and think for themselves

As a reporter for 15 years at a major daily paper, I can tell you what fuels the feedback loop, in great part.
Editors/managers check other media and if they see a story elsewhere that they don't have, they freak - "We need to match this, We're getting beat on t his story"
Often it's because the story is either old news, or flat out wrong. Neither of these dissuades them once they have the lust, though. I've had to match a story that was itself a matcher of something I'd filed a week earlier - I dusted my old story off, made a couple of phonecalls and refiled it.

Where are these quotes by Rivers? I seem to have missed reading them anywhere...
Dudley will be targetted by BOS when he's a FA, guaranteed. He played at BC and has all the intangibles they had in Posey...
