Magic fans booed him relentlessly during Orlando's 122-100 victory over Phoenix at Amway Arena. They booed him when his name came up during pregame introductions. They booed him sometimes when Hill merely touched the ball.

Classless.

Here's a clue, you had seven years of one of the most unique talents in the game and you couldn't keep him healthy.

He came to Phoenix and revived his career.

Christ, it's not like he left the team for more money. He left the Magic so he'd have a chance at playing healthy basketball for the first time in a long while.

I hope we play the Magic in the championship and Hill goes off for a double-double with 5 apg per game, plays lock-down d and dunks over Vince once per game, wins Finals MVP and a ring and then retires after game 7 back in Phoenix.

Orlando's always bitter when old players come back to town. Shaq left for L.A. 13 years ago and they still give him Hell for taking more money and not staying in their city.

I've been to sporting events all over the world, and I've NEVER seen one team boo an opposing player THAT bad, and I'm from NZ where we play Australia every year.

They were yelling BAD things at him, like hoping his car crashes and he gets cancer etc etc

Everyone else in Orlando was fine, but once they got to the game all hell broke loose

Nah, Shaq didn't leave on bad terms with the Suns. He didn't achieve what he set out to, but he came, he played well, made an All-Star team, did his job. Didn't bad mouth the Suns when he left, has been consistently positive about his time in Phoenix...

No reason to boo him, unless you're a relentless Shaq-hater.

Well I have no control over other people, but I honestly couldn't care less about O'Neal. It's a non-issue as far as I'm concerned.

That's incredible. Honestly.

I mean it's Grant Hill.. he's the only guy to have ever won the Joe Dumars trophy twice.

How can you dislike a guy that almost died trying to revive his career in your town?

Some people need massive perspective.....

Well, obviously it was because he wanted to be injured.

Obviously.

Orlando's medical team needs to sneak into Phoenix's medical area and take some f--king notes.

Orlando's medical team needs to figuratively euthanize themselves for screwing up a McGrady/Hill pairing that could have been a dynasty. Same thing with Houston.

Yeah, and Orlando's management team needs to roast itself for caving to McGrady's trade demand when they drafted Dwight Howard instead of Okafor.

EDIT: I mean this retroactively, since Gabriel is no longer with them.

I don't get it, Hill knew his role was going to decrease because they signed Lewis and at the time the Suns were a top 3 team in the league and offered him the biggest role and most playing time. Yet people are still mad at him for leaving?
