Earl Clark yet again DNP

Post#1 » by statisback » Fri Nov 20, 2009 5:51 am

Whats the deal?? How are the Suns going to build a future by leaving talent on the bench??
Clark is a very good defender and rebounder. He can score. What more can you ask for? The guy needs to get some PT!!

Yeah, he's the Suns 4th best player behind Amare, Nash and J-Rich and might be able to move to third if he can outplay J-Rich. I'd like to see him get 35-40 mins a game starting at SF for 10 or so games just to see what he can do, what do the Suns have to lose?

Well, I wouldnt go that far yet... Dudley and Hill are still better players BUT Clark has serious potential

I dunno why he didn't play but i guarantee Gentry knows more about Clark's situation more than you or me. From what i've seen of Clark so far i haven't been overly impressed. Definitely not living up to the future Hall-of-Famer hype you were all so excited to see.

In the sparse minutes he has seen, I've noticed his ability to get rebounds, defend and aggressive in taking it to the hoop.

What dont you like about him?

I don't dislike anything about him, when he looks lost on the court i don't blame him cuz he's young. I do like seeing Gentry developing him slowly. He'll get time eventually, be patient.

Practice play is a big issue here.

I don't think it would make much of a difference if they switched Clark with Hill. I like Hill but Clark's younger and has alot of potential, can probably put up similar or better stats with the same amount of playing time.

Although Earl would've helped us tonight on the boards, I still believe Gentry is taking the right approach to Earl's development. If E55 isn't earning the PT in practice, he shouldn't play. I believe this is a much better approach than giving him minutes and watching him under-achieve (ala Julian Wright).

Still, Earl has got to be happy to know his golden ticket to playing time is defense and rebounding, something we badly need right now. No doubt he's got the talent and size, just needs to show the desire.

Hmmm, I say if Amare gets traded he will become a big part of our team... Or next year if Amare sign with someone else.... I think he should get mins... We really don't know what he can do.

His offense hurts us more than what he provides on the defensive end. Traxxe says it's his practice play so I'll go with that. But I have faith in Gentry and I know he wouldn't not play a rookie for no reason unlike Nellie.

That Golden Ticket pic made my day - and it was a supremely crap day up to that point.

Clark is soft/passive and cannot create his own shot or make plays for others at this point still.

He also doesn't have a true position or skill set.

He is young and will develop but he is all athlete at the moment and less ballplayer.
