New poster, old reader

I've been reading this forum for a few years now, I've been a Suns fan for a very, very long time.

I initially signed up for the board when Sunsman predicted a "definite loss" to the Houston Rockets because I thought it was completely ridiculous for a sports fan to have the tenacity to call any win or loss "definite". Anywho, I didn't get a chance to post for that thread, so this is my first one!

I look forward to the debates, I vow to stay away from trade threads, and can't wait to watch our guys get a top 5 seed!

fix'd

...and just don't make a trade thread every day. You can still enter them and post and such. Unless you make comments that don't make much sense a la MVF. Then you have no business in them. I already think you're crazy talking about a top 5 seed.

(whoosh under the radar)

Hey welcome. Several things:

1. I'm flattered to see my name pop up on most threads nowadays - especially the first paragraph of each topic. More flattered that I was the one who somewhat prompted you to join. Cheers.

2. Sooner or later in the coming years - given I have a wide array of credentials all over message boards with my infamous Sunsman name - I'll be Forum Mod. The day will come.

3. Hey, what can I say? I like the Rockets. No shame in that. I'm sure there are other Suns fans that appreciate other teams too.

4. The way Suns lose to cheap teams (e.g. Hornets), I don't think it is crazy to question their winning ability against other teams such as Rockets.

Let us proceed...

1. Simple. Dont Flatter yourself, the reason he wanted to start posting isnt something you should be proud of. :noway:
2. again dont flatter yourself honestly...dont. :noway:
3. legit but the team i show most support for i never disrespect... i dont go around posting on the suns board predicting a loss in the GAME THREAD :noway:
4. The hornets game was one let down they have had this season, a LEGIT letdown not unlike last year when we would lose to teams we really shouldnt lose to.

1. Item number one was intended as a joke.

2. Item number two was intended as a joke.

3. Predicting your favorite team will lose or may lose is not grounds for not being a fan. It is completely okay, regularly practiced, and expected for fans to doubt ability of the team at times.

4. Yes. Correct. Only 1 letdown. It only begs the question one must ask themselves or to other fans: Will there be more letdowns to cheap teams like this again in the future? The answer is most likely yes based on sheer probability.

Of course there will be more letdowns. That's the nature of the league. I don't see how that diminishes the team as a whole.

I never said anything about doubting anyone's fanhood, I said that it's ridiculous for any sports fan to say a win or loss is definite, which is what Sunsman said. Teams WILL lose to teams they shouldn't, sometimes. That's just how it works. If that didn't happen, then we wouldn't have beat the Celtics. Anyone who watches sports and understands the NBA knows that every night is toss up, an upset can always happen. Hell, the knicks almost beat the Celtics the other night -- that doesn't mean that the Celtics are barely better then the Knicks, it was just what happened that night.

So don't write it off as "hey, I'm just a fan of another team, I'm sure there are others who supports other teams"... Of course I like other teams, and when they play each other, I have a picked favorite who I think will win. But I certainly don't say anything is definite, especially based on who that team beat last.
