i like the +/- stat. of course, i don't think it's the end-all be-all, but it's good for perspective.
from coro:
* Retweet: The Suns' plus-minus leaders are Frye cumulatively (plus-56 with Frye on the floor) and Leandro Barbosa per minute (plus-.195 per minute).
http://www.azcentral.com/members/Blog/PaulCoro/68256considering the suns 1st quarter woes and lb's injury... i would probably bet a dollar that coro is wrong just to prove a point.

Prove what point? Something regarding LB? This last sentence confuses me.

if i had written 'prove
a point' would it have made sense? also i dont really know what point i just MAKE POINTS. i am surprised that frye leads overall +/- for a variety of reasons, including that the suns have gotten in holes early in games (when frye is always, rather than often, in the game).
and yah as ive said my impression when barbs has been on the floor was that he's playing poorly. which i guess he's not?
+/- stats are really favorable to 4's who can spread the floor
interesting if true

You did say "prove a point", unless you literally mean using the "'s when you said that. If it was regarding LB then I would be on board with trying to prove Coro wrong, but Frye is a different story. Regardless, isn't Frye playing the 5? Even if the +/- does favor 4's that can spread the floor, Frye isn't playing the 4 (correct me if I'm wrong). STAT spreads the floor as a 4 though, so is it relative to when STAT and Frye are on the floor?
This **** +/- stat is so confusing for me. Kind of like the QB passer rating. It all makes no sense, I just know that so long as its positive, it's good.

Just mentioned this in the LB thread. He's not doing as badly as some think.
