Great thread

P.S. If it means anything, I hate Porter's style too ;)

Terry Porter thought he was coaching a basketball team for the marines, surprised he didn't hand Nash, Amundson and Lopez razors and told them to drop and give him 50

In all seriousness, Porter's tenure as coach changed my opinion on fast pace basketball and taught me to appreciate run-n-fun ball just like I'm sure many other fans found out. I used to like grind it out style games but after Porter not anymore. Now I hope the Suns continue playing it even in the post Nash-era.

his style would be good for a team like the Twolves, Grizzlies or Portland but not on a veteran laden team like the Suns.

I'm glad you saw the light Mary, but what I don't get is your hatred of Nash? You do realise, he is the main factor in it right? Put just about any other PG in the same situation and we aren't anywhere near as successful.

Why do we keep bashing this guy? Who cares he's gone and we are good again. Get over it!!!

Since the Suns are winning these days I'm neutral on Nash

The Suns have missed the playoffs 3 times since 1988. Last year, if we'd been even marginally better (or just fired Porter sooner) it'd have been 2.

The Suns may have A- Syndrome (click on my sig if you don't know what I mean), but we have gotten very much used to them being an A- team, not a C- team, and when the culprit is blindingly obvious (Porter), you've got to expect some raging.

Yes, Shaq was a part of the problem, but I don't for a second think that the team we had under Gentry least year would've missed the playoffs; they seemed more like a Western Semis team.

Remember when Porter did get fired, Barkley was so vocal about Porter getting the raw end of the deal and that Phx should have given him a full season.. LOL at Barkley for his stupid opinion
