Well, game 19 tonight and he kinda bonered things up for us again. A 17 point loss is embarrassing.

Amare gets absolutely no respect in the paint anymore. Tells you that every other team completely writes him off.

I used to think yes, but he does not look like the same player on both ends of the court. Whoever had inside info that stated the Suns were worried about that was right. I'd think by now, being in shape wouldn't be an excuse.

Yes he will dominate again. He has too long left in his career to get into that rut - no matter his motivation/heart right now, he wants to be back on top as a ball player just like any other fallen star.

Totally agree. Even after his micro fracture surgery, he came out and dominated people. After the eye surgery? Seems very timid and weak.

do we have to have a thread like this after every loss?

Nobody ever said he'd be fully in shape from laying horizontally for half the summer by the End of November. Near the beginning of the season, everyone was giving him til after All-Star weekend...one month is crazy talk.

Even if he's a little out of shape though, I would think he'd be able to dominate the game at least in short spurts. He's not even doing that, he's just playing lethargic. I WANT to be wrong, but something looks wrong with amar'e.

I think he is being passive/cautious about drawing contact and if I were him maybe I would be too. The risk of losing eyesight in one eye is probably quite traumatic, still in games like this I wish he could just take it real strong to the rack like he used to.

I guess it doesn't help that Shaq wiped Stat out on a few plays without getting called for a foul.

Amar'e has been problamatic but never so much as a 18/5 stat line since his rookie year.

I'm curious as to what his excuse is, this year. That's all. Can he bounce back to 25/10? If he can, we can be contenders. If not, we're a mediocre playoff team -- at best. (We need defense, from him, as well.)

You mean butterfingers no longer gets respect in the paint anymore.

No...this isn't the same Amare in 04-05 where he tried to dunk over everyone and had fire to compete. Now he just seems like a medicore player, it's unfortunate but he had some many injuries and is getting older. Management would be smart to trade him or even let him walk...

If Amare's trade value tanks, we are unequivocally screwed.

Another flakey fan posting stupid threads. No wonder I dont visit the site as much. Do we have to blame amare after every lost? This is getting lame 19 games in.

Things I have notice. He is not getting up that many shots anymore. Its more of a team scoring than having a main threat like Amare back in the day.

He does seem hesitent because this is a contract year for him. Now most players would go all out, but his two major injuries I think have made him less attack mode than he used to be.

So, Im not sure the suns will be able to trade Amare unless it is to a contender. I think he will walk and the suns will try to fill that void left with Clark, frye and rolo. We will get worse and nash will want out after next year. Suns will become pethetic and Im not sure they can let go and totally rebuild.

imo i think he can just as of right now theres like no motivation to be dominate in the paint or just try to be an intimidating factor presurgery. i bet he'll eventually put up big numbers again like when shaq first got here but right now i barely notice hes putting up at least 20 points a game now a days.

It has nothing to do with Amare getting less touches , just that he just can't create his own shot for GOD's sake, period. Without Nash creating it for him , he just doesnt know what to do with the ball other than committing a TO.

I know I'm not a big time poster here, but from the way some of you post, it's like you don't know the game of basketball, or sports really. A few bad games does not mean a player, or even a team, is a bad team. Sports, specifically basketball, is a game of ups and downs. That's all there is to it. You'll have games where you play over your head, and games where you don't even know if you can dribble the ball anymore.

OK, so we lost two games, and Amare isn't doing as well as we all had hoped. Darn. A week ago NO ONE was complaining and now that we have 2 double digit loses all hell breaks loose.

Take a deep breath, realize that we're still in great position with a core group of guys that love playing the game with each other, and a leader in Steve Nash that will take the ball into his own hands and correct the ship.

Of course, I should realize that this is a message board and the Apocalypse is a weekly occurrence in places like this. But really, 2 trade Amare threads in 2 days? Please.

The trainers and the doctors (surgeons involved with the Micro/Eye) obviously gave Kerr/Sarver some indicative assessment on Stoudemire.

I have a feeling, his knees are losing strength due to the Microfracture surgery wearing out its effects. Meaning, another surgery might be required.

Second, Stoudemire's eye sight is not 100%, that and he is mentally affected by being too cautious.

Kerr/Sarver did their homework...

Guess Stoudemire needs to either show up... or no extension.
