next 10 games (8 at home)...

we finally get a break from the brutal road schedule to start the season. of the next 10 games, 8 are at home with only 1 back to back in the schedule. We do get SA, CLE, LAL, and BOS all at home but all 4 games will be very tough. I say we go 8-2 but we can easily go 5-5. This to me is a critical stretch of the season. We must continue to have fun and try our best to win the rebound battle. LB should be back in action, so that will deepen our bench. LETS GO PHX!!

I think we can go 8-2, but 7-3 is prob a bit more realistic.

At this point if the Suns can come out at least .500 I'll be happy...

What are the odds that LA won't be coming off a back to back in Phoenix.

Weeeeeee

Yeah... fun and games.... thats what is important.

We are a .500 ball club... may be a game or two above... but .500 non the less. This is a good month for Kerr-plunk to really assess the personnel they have assembled. In 2 days, deals will begin. If we want to compete, something must change.... if we want to 'have fun' ... may be we could hook up some confetti cannons on the rims

I'm with you ... not sure about that SanAn game ... I think we might get beaten tactically. 2 consecutive home losses would be hard to take but it is 2 of the best teams going round.

I'm 50/50 on the Boston game ... for some reason I don't recall them doing well in PHX.

Naw, we're definitely going to be around 55ish wins. Way above .500.

what season are you watching Frankie? .500 ball club? you're a little lost there pal. we're 8 games above .500, only undefeated team at home, and a very respectable 8-8 on the road considering our brutal road schedule. and when I say "fun" i mean lets keep hustling and winning because that's when we are having "fun" and playing our best basketball.

Depends which Suns team shows up - we're deeply schizophrenic. If the team that gang rebounds, plays team defense and hustles shows up, we can steal a couple games in that stretch. If the other guys show up, we're screwed.
We need to establish some consistency.

The TNT curse will end on Thursday, and something tells me OKC might be a close one, but we'll take care of all the other teams except Lakers and Cleveland. We'll make it a good one this time against Cleveland (even the best defenders can't guard LeBron, and lets be honest, we don't have anyone close who can guard him), and I still think the Lakers will beat us by 15+ because Bynum always kills us, and Pau is too hairy.

And thus my opinion that we are a little better than a .500 ball club. Lousy teams excel against us. We have to bring our A / B+ game to scratch out a win.

Our brutal road schedule has had but 3 quality wins... Houston, Miami, Boston. We beat Orlando at home... but other than that, the list is a bunch of floundering Patsies. Our losses include LA twice, Cleve, Dallas, Orlando, Denver... Too many 20pt beat downs have occurred. Too many 15 pt leads evaporated. We consistently play a good 3 quarters of basketball, and our defense is still a work under progress.

I am not telling you anything you don't know. I'm just drinking out of the half empty glass.

Jury is out with me... consider this month part of the deliberation...

I just may sequester myself.

Wasn't every single one of these on the ass-end of a back to back away from home? you can't really hold them too highly accountable for losing to elite (or semi-elite teams) after playing the night before and having to travel and get in super late the night before a game like any of those. the loss to the knicks was pretty unacceptable, but d'antoni knows the 2 best players on the suns inside and out.

I have a question for anyone who knows:

I know every team obviously plays 41 at home and 41 on the road, but are other factors equal...for example, does every team play the same amount of back-to-backs, etc?

they don't all play the exact same amount of back-to-backs, but its pretty close usually. but you can't just look at the amount of back-to-backs. you also have to take into account the level of competition on the opening and closing nights, and also the location. home-home is obviously the best for a B2B situation. away-home is probably second best, then away-away... and i'd say home-away is the worst for B2B's. players get used to being at their own houses then play a game and have to get used to being on the road. also, say you play the timberwolves on the first night of a B2B, then you play the nets the next night... you're definitely more favored to win both than if you play the wolves on the first night and the lakers the second night. i'd also argue that you have a highly elevated chance of pulling off both wins if you play the lakers the first night and the wolves the second night. so when looking at back to backs... yes, teams generally play the same amount of them (maybe 1-3 difference over the course of the season), but there are a lot of variables to look at as well.
