I hope this team misses the playoffs
So than the Suns can actually start to rebuild.
Look, even if this team makes the playoffs be serious they might win one series but they wont get to the finals or have a chance at the ship now...
I watch probably ever team play across the league and even though the Suns may have a better defensive ranking than some of those other teams they make teams like the Warriors and Knicks who are known as poor defensive teams look like defensive powerhouses, that's how bad the Suns are at defense.
It amazes me how the Nash fanboys are still happy with making the playoffs and losing in the first round or even missing them. I'm not blaming this on Nash but all the guys on the Suns 1-12 can't play defense or are below average. It's just amazing...
The problem is that Nash and Amare are the worst defenders at their position, Hill is 37 years old and can't defend everyone. Dragic is better than Nash but still below average and Dudley is an overweight player who can't keep up with his defensive assignment but haled for his defense by Nash fanboys.
It's clear the Suns need new players 1-12 because the culture of this team just plain stinks and I hope Kerr wises up and just trades everyone by Feb. Yeah the Suns don't have their pick this year and it doesn't make any difference to me as long as the Suns pick doesn't turn into #1 or #2 for them to land Wall or Favors which it wont considering at worst they will be a late lotto team. It doesn't make a difference if the Suns have to get a late lotto pick away because in the end it would be worth it if they finally rebuild.
There's no hope for this team seriously
Frye
Amare
Hill
J-Rich
Nash
Dragic
Dudley
Amundson
Clark
Lopez
These are the Suns...no young talent, no future but I still root for them because their my hometown team and I want to see them do well. As a Suns fan who likes defense it will be a great day when ever they decide to change the culture and rebuild.

Re: I hope this team misses the playoffs
I'm completely with you Mary this team has no future doing anything besides a first or second round exit. I hope we emulate past championship winners and get a dynamic 2 guard who can put the ball on the floor and score in crunch time. Brandon roy joe johnson type. we could contend if we made a few moves but right now i don't see them being made in fact I don't think anyone really knows how we could acquire those assets due to our limited resources and myopic owner who is concerned with saving face preserving his wealth while not trying to do anything drastic.
Sigh...kerr says he's ok with the team. maybe they'll get better but these flaws keep reappearing. Leads vanish faster than blood at the scene of a crime when it starts to rain.

What a terrible idea, thought, and thread. It won't make any difference if we make the playoffs or miss, other than the Thunder will have a different pick. We can't rebuild this off season. The best thing we could hope for is some GM being dumb enough to take Amare and give us something useful in return. Couple that with JRich finding a basketball IQ in his Xmas stocking.

It does make a difference, trading Nash and Amare even if it's for 50 cents on the dollar would be a breath of fresh air. Their big contracts would be out of the way and the Suns can finally rebuild, they can choose to become a defensive powerhouse, a running team again but with young guys instead of old guys, etc...

Mary, you're too emotional after these losses. Just a loss, not a big deal. We're still a fun team to watch. If you don't think so, then just stop watching.
Also, I don't know why you think trading nash and amare for 50 cents on the dollar would be a breath of fresh air. I've talked commented on you saying this before, but it's just infuriating that you think that. To be a second round team means you're better then most NBA teams. You can't just rebuild and fall into a championship contender, that's not how it works. Even if you have a bloated market in your favor (which we certainly don't) or a lot of picks (which we don't), it still doesn't mean you'll contend past the second round. What it does mean is that you'll have a couple of years of not being in contention at all, and with the way you handle these losses, I'd say you'd probably be driven to suicide after 2 years of that.
You forget that just because you can draw up little trades in your little ESPN trade machine where you get Baron Davis for this and Brandoy Roy for that doesn't actually happen in real life. It's not actually an option. It's a weak market, and there's nothing much we can do to improve our team a couple years from now. If we trade off whoever (1-12 as you put it... which is OUTRAGEOUS), there is no promise that we'll be more in contention 2 years from now, or even 5 years from now. You should be enjoying this while it lasts.

One loss and no big deal...The Suns have gone 3-6 in the month of Dec.
Right now the Suns are stuck in mediocrity, they might be able to make the playoffs but they don't have a chance to win let's be honest. If they were to trade everyone even if it was for 50 cents on the dollar they will be a bad team where they can actually build through the draft as long as they keep their picks, that's how bad teams become good teams. Look at alot of these teams that remain in mediocrity throughout the league, just don't want to see that happen to the Suns...

Yes, you are. I can't believe you could say something that offensive. **** I'm not sure exactly what I've said that has given you such an impression, but just because someone's a bit more conservative than you are, doesn't mean they're a "***". That's beyond offensive.

That's the point I was trying to make dude, I remember there was a discussion about the Israel and Palestine conflict, it came up on a thread and I could be wrong but I believe you said you supported what they were doing to the Palestinian's which is basically the same point you brought up. The username and photo were familiar I thought.
I could have got you mixed up with someone else and if I did I apologize but yeah don't want to get into a political discussion but I believe there were a few other posts that were kind of offensive besides that one.
My bad if I mixed you up with someone else though

Think about it, we make the playoffs right? That puts money in someones pocket. Say you trade are top two players during the season. The chemistry doesn't work, and its another blunder of a season and most of you will be calling for $arver and I'm a genius or a morons head - Business standpoint even though it possibly might make our team better for the future, the front office isn't going to risk of losing $ at any cost. Were talking about Rober 'your orange dress shirt is f`kn ugly) $arver.

Re: I hope this team misses the playoffs
Mary, what you are saying is that every team that does not have a chance to get to the finals should rebuild. That is quite simply the most idiotic idea I've ever heard. Right now we're a team that's trying to clear salary so we can get under the tax and so we can make moves when we're under the cap. *That* is the team we are right now.
Here is a sample of other teams who are in similar situation as us:
NYK (8-17): Big contracts (Curry, Jefferies), no pick
CHI (9-15): Big contracts (Deng, Hinrich), serious lack of firepower
DET (11-14): Big contracts (Rip, Prince, Gordon), going nowhere quick
MEM (10-15): Big contracts (Z-Bo, Jaric), got young talent but no identity
UTA (15-10): Big contract (AK47), Boozer in the same situation as Amare
PHX (17-9): Big contract (JRich), don't know what's happening with Amare, no pick
Now the Knicks have a "plan" to rebuild but mostly it's hoping they land Lebron but even if they don't they have money to spend on other FA's. But they still have Curry and Jefferies in their books going into 2010.
The Bulls still have Hinrich getting paid 9mil a year to play backup to D.Rose. Not a big issue but they aren't winning anything big unless they bring in a post scorer.
I honestly have no idea what's happening with the Pistons, they got 30mil tied to role players well into 2013.
Memhpis still has Z-Bo in their books and both he and Jaric don't epxire until end of next season.
Utah aren't going to rebuild because they have pieces but they still have money to tied to AK47 and Boozer is most likely gone.
I'm not saying we're in a better or worse situation than those teams but none of those teams can rebuild this season and only two of those teams are likely to make playoffs, us and the Jazz. Unlike the Jazz, Grizzlies, Bulls and Pistons, we don't have a 2010 pick so even if we want to force a rebuild we can't.
For those who can't rebuild this season, which team is in a better situation than us? We're playoff bound, currently 4th in the competitive West, have a decent squad with young players, Amare can walk, resign or be S&T'ed (cap space, more Amare or rebuilding tools) and we'll have a draft pick the same season JRich comes off the books. The only "issue" if you can even call it that, is we have your most hated player tied to our books until 2012.
We're a team that was not expected to make playoffs this season and considering our roster it's easy to see that we're a team in a transition phase trying to clear salary so we can rebuild, yet we're 4th in the West and playoff bound.
If I was asking for more, I might as well ask for a Tucker for Lebron.

I'm an outsider looking in so hate me or w/e but MaryvalesFinest speaks the TRUTH. Like the blazers have their flaws and then some (cough oden needs to stay f'in healthy). However he realizes that if your not gonna win, monies nice but the goal is a FINALS championship. So either put all ur eggs in the basket (get all vets) or get young guys and rebuild but good defense 7 times out of 10 beats good offense. Well best of luck the rest of the season and I don't want more drama but MF know's what HE wants for the team and still bleeds purple n orange.
