My Apologies!

Dragic is turning into a little pistol. He is probing defenses better than before and he is playing with a bigger chip on his shoulder. If he could continue this, we should keep Amare and hold out on the demolition and rebuilding project. The only reason we are considering rebuilding is because of Nash and Hill's age. If Goran contiues playing this way, keeping Amare, LB, Frye, Goran and Clark grows into a solid 3, we will be fine. Duds, Lou and Lopez off of the bench. Let JRich walk in two years.......Hell, I am happy.

So I apologize to Goran for the harsh crticism. He needs to get better with the right and it will be all gravy. The ability and heart is there. Don't get me wrong, we will never have the Lakers frontline, but as long as we have our offense, we have a chance to compete. I will take entertainment and West Finals over have a bunch of young players losing and picking in the lotto every year, F- Dat Chit Mane.

Tell Hollinger to take that future! :D

Btw, the reason I created this post is because I have NBA Pass and I watch all games. If you watch the Suns play and then ANY other team, it is like going from a Porsche to a Ford Focus. Watching paint dry. Most of these teams have a bunch of one on one ball hogs or throw it into the post and stand around offenses. We are so blessed to have Steve Nash and this team. It will be a sad day when he leaves :(

I like Clark but now that we've seen Dragic playing as a combo guard I wish we had picked a PG with that 14th pick. Lawson or somebody...

I am cool on that (drafting a PG). Look how bad Dragic looked last year at this time. Clark has an awesome skill set. I will be patient with him. He has 2 years to show improvement. I just don't think we have to blow it up if Drag keeps improving look at Amare lately. we have been so spoiled by what he use to do, we still can't miss what he is doing. I don't think he is worth max money though. I hope they can work somethinng out.

as bad as this would be financially, I'd love it if we pulled an us on Philadelphia at the end of next year and traded J-Rich for Elton Brand and a couple unprotected first rounders. They're going nowhere fast so they'd be really high picks. Buy out Brand (he'd have 2 years left on his contract. We'd have to lock up our role-players now until that expires) for 2-4 mil less than he'll make which ends up being like 18 mil or so. I did all the numbers and our salary would be pretty similar to what it is now. If we're making modest playoff runs we can afford that. The Suns were a profitable franchise last year without the playoffs. Add 4-8 mil a year from playoff appearances and we'd be fine. With Grant and Nash retiring, we save enough money to make it work as long as we get a good rookie or 2 (they're just so wonderfully cheap). Malcolm Lee (who might wait til next year to enter the draft) would be a lock down 2 who looks like he's improved alot with his offense, and this guy http://www.nbadraft.net/players/perry-jones looks like Kevin Durant to me. Either one would thrill me to the core

And that in and of itself, would basically have us rebuilt. That is so nice of you to apologize for ripping Dragic too! He's gotten more and more consistent with more playing time. Even if he doesn't turn into an all-star like he could, he'll still be above average. Watching our close games, it seems like all we need to be championship contenders when the Lakers get old (pau and Kobe... 4 years?) is a lock down wing defender and a high quality rebounder/interior defender.

And is it just me or do Dragic and Lou click really well on offense?

It's you, lol! Dragic didn't have me at hello, but he had me with those two dimes to Lou and Lopez last night.

He had a couple good ones in the Denver game to Lou too. I was there, thus I freaked out and annoyed everyone around me. There were a few others in a few other games but I don't remember which ones.

Check what Nash had to say about him http://assets.sbnation.com/assets/230214/Nash_121809_edited.mp3

i disagree. i really don't want dragic to turn into a Barbosa, not to mention he's short for a SG.

I think Dragic has a chance to be something special, and the fact that he is playing well as a combo guard means nothing. he's playing next to Steve NAsh. you would think any point guard in the league was a great combo guard next to Steve nash. you could find combo guards any where, but an all-around PG like Dragid... not so much.

Dragic knows how to connect with the two big guys off the bench (Lou and Lopez) mainly because those guys slash when Dragic drives and knows how to find open holes. Now, if Clark can learn to slash as well instead of probing the free throw line and elbows I think Clark would get more playing time. Clark is thinking too much is all, he'll improve over time.

I'm wondering how LB will do coming back into the lineup when Dragic has been playing both point guard and shooting guard pretty effectively. I hope both LB and Dragic will learn to work together and dominate the opposition's bench productivity. I like our nine man rotation, and hoping next year we can have an eleven-man rotation (Lopez and Clark).

I'm gonna say I have to trust Nash when he says that Goran will be as good as he wants to be. It also helps that Gentry calls him an extremely hard worker.

I just remembered another 2nd round pick turned All-star. Mo Williams, although I think Dragic's ceiling is higher than Mo's (Dragics already better at driving and defending, and his passing is coming along just fine). There's more than just Ginobli and Hornesec(sp?)!

You know what else is encouraging is seeing that Amare's showing up an hour and a half earlier than he was before to practice before games. Since he starting doing it, he's been pulling down rebounds like a fiend. Hopefully he keeps up that work ethic and I just might decide not to hate him anymore.

You won't say that once you see Clark develop.

I love Dragic and all, and his future definitely looks bright, but i think some of you guys are getting carried away 8-)

Oh well, i guess it's been awhile since the Suns had a decent prospect.

I don't think anyone said anything insanely crazy regarding Dragic's growth. The point is, if he is able to effectively fulfill our need at the PG when Nash retires or his skills erode, we don't have to blow up ship.

true. Even if he doesn't become a full fledged all star (which I think he can if he reaches his peak potential), we still have Amare who I wanted to trade a week ago. As long as he keeps showing up for practice early and rebounding like he has, I'd be just fine with keeping him. Really, we'd just need an all-star wing. Clark doesn't look like it at the moment but Dragic and LB both had their biggest growth as a player starting in their 2nd season. Either way, we can make a trade for a young player or draft pick who'll become the complement. At least we've got a core to build around. I think Kerr's getting better at his job and has learned from his mistakes. Hopefully he can pull something off

Hope so. Dude has crazy potential. I mean, he's no surefire HOF player like Anthony "Magic" Randolph, but then again, who is?

Jason Richardson for Rip Hamilton... wait what?!?!

oh yes... Rip Hamilton would work as Detroit is also going nowhere fast as well... After next season is over I'd take just about anything that would be us getting a top 7 pick or so as we just need 1 franchise player with a work ethic.
also...

GS- Corey Maggette
CHA- Stephen Jackson (it's only a matter of time right?)
CHI- Luol Deng, although he has been playing well, maybe they'll have financial freak mode moment, despite basketball sense like we did with Kurt Thomas and feel the urge to get rid of him... He might actually be worth keeping around too

That, plus PHI, and DET will be 5 bad teams potentially desperate to unload contracts. If we decide to make a basketball trade rather than a financial trade, we could be in a very good situation with J-Rich's expiring contract. If the mocks about 2011 are right, it looks like there could be quite a few high quality wing players. We just gotta swing something after the season's over and before the draft... unless someone's willing to do a draft night trade AND pick who we want.

2011/2012 we look like

Dragic
Wing player we just drafted who is totally awesome/LB
Clark/Dudley
Amare/Lou
Frye/ I'd rather not have Lopez as he looks terrible, and just try to draft someone better for what he's supposed to do.

We'd just need our big rebounder/defender and within a couple years I think we just might be contenders again.

And I guess Goran's Serbian coach who turned him into a 5 on the rise on NBA.com is still coaching him after regular practices

It really has been a startling turn around for WJesus. Great to see - I always like him personally - very charming kid and hard not to be won over by him.

Now if only we're as wrong about Lopez .....

EC I have no idea yet. Right now I can think of a bunch of guys I'd rather have from the same draft but I was all for EC in the spring so let's hope he really is who we thought he was

I still hate the Griffin pick - we should have taken a good Euro prospect that's tied up in contract

speaking of which, who are the guys down at the bottom of the RealGM trade roster for PHX?
