Amar'e still waiting for his eyewear???

Wow, Coro says Amare is still waiting on his eyewear to be delivered. I guess what he is wearing now isn't going to be his real eye protection. And this NBA rule about the "logo" really is weird.
Suns forward Amar'e Stoudemire does not know where to turn next for his eyewear. The pair he has worn last season and this season has a logo that he covers with tape and colors to match the frame. He said a new NBA rule does not allow a logo, even covered. Stoudemire was supposed to have customized eyewear ready in January, but he said that will take longer than expected. "I don't know where I'm going to find some," he said.

You can;t have covered logo on eyeglasses?

I only can't understand why adidas logo on shooting sleeves is allowed.

Man, it sure is taking a long time for them to make his glasses.

Knowing how strict the NBA is, they'll probably make Amare wear their own certified eyewear.

Where Stupidity Happens... I mean seriously, what is the big deal about covering a logo if they don't want it in the first place. Also, would you think that if your company was making eyewear for a prominent NBA player, you would hurry it up???

We'd rather put all-star players at risk and make teams that should be competing, lose. It's better if the NBA has a Lakers/Celtics matchup for playoffs, right?

Adidas is allowed on the sleeves etc because they are "an official affiliate" of the NBA.

I'm sure they are thinking if they are allowing small logos, some players are going to take advantage and try and get sponsors. It's stupid though since Amare is covering the logo anyway so it's not like a sponsor is going to pay him to cover up their logo.

It sure takes a long time to get his eye wear. He's been talking about them since October or something.

God, I hate that sentiment so much. They probably want it as bad as they did last year when it didn't happen. LA and Boston are the best teams because of management. It's likely that they will succeed. Just because you're not a fanboy of either team, don't be a poor sport.

I know, but back in the day there wasn't ANY logos allowed on the game gear. Adidas' logo first appeared on Dwight's sleeve last season.

But Adidas has always done the NBA's jerseys, so there wasn't an issue.

I'd assume it's because the NBA has a league-wide deal with Adidas to supply the warmups - all the teams have essentially the same gear.

I really miss the old days, when each team had custom warmups. Seems like a dumb move, given the marketing/merch aspects

Amare sure gets his glasses knocked off alot every game. Probably a psychological effect on why he isn't driving as much as he used to.
