After Nash Retires...

Post#1 » by TheGameWinner » Tue Dec 29, 2009 6:27 pm

I think the Suns will be alright. Even if he stays for 4 more years... the Run and Gun still has Potential off the bench...

Dragic has REALLY impressed me.
Dudly was a steal in the Richardson trade.
Earl Clark is a project, but as a 4 in your system... he'll flourish eventually...
Amare... who knows about his future, but, you'll net something in return if he leaves... S&T Portland for LMA + Jerryd Bayless (If Amare is extended, I'm sure Roy would prefer STAT.)
RoLo + Admudson.. < Sp? .. Every team needs an energy guy... They'd be good complimentary pieces to a jumpshooting bigman (If the portland trade is something the suns would look into..)

Dragic/Bayless
Richardson/Barbosa
Dudley/Draft Pick
LMA/Clark
RoLo/Frye

I have family in PHX... and I'm really happy Kerr is finally bringing back what works.

Richardson has no future here. Just sayin.
Everything else seems fine.

It's going to depend on what the Suns get for Amare, either through trading him or the players they sign in free agency. I think he's gone either way though because Sarver was shopping him last year and if he really thought he was a max player he wouldn't have been doing that. Jay Rich is most likely gone through a trade or free agency in 2011, Hill and Nash will be gone by 2012.

Worst case scenario

C-Lopez
PF-Frye
SF-Dudley
SG-Barbosa
PG-Dragic

Probably a 10-15 win team

I just hope the Suns rebuild through the draft instead of signing half baked free agents to remain medicore. 10 and 20 win seasons might be hard for some people to watch for a few seasons but the Suns would eventually collect young talent and than another playoff era would start. Would be better than just signing players for the sake of it and be to good to get a high lottery pick or to bad to win in the playoffs or make them.

LMA's contract is way too big and not conducive to a rebuilding team despite his young age

Theres a lot that remains to be seen before this can really be judged

Im guessing after Nash retires we have 2-3 years of sucking and depending on how well our management performs in those 2-3 years of sucking that will determine whether we're a contender, playoff team, or continue to suck

Wow maybe we should think twice about longing for Bayless after all

Richardson/Barbosa

Easily. Bayless is good... but... that's not what the suns lineup (in this case would need) he's not an efficient player.

Dragic is more calm... he has a nice slashing game, and good 3 point shot.

I would make LMA and JRich the main offensive options.

Dudley and RoLo would provide solid defense + more balance.

They could be a very good run and gun team.

Bayless plays the j.r smith role... comes in and provides a spark.

Nope but it is possible to get Perry Jones in the 2011 draft, Suns still have their first rounder luckily. He's a 6'10 guy that can actually play the point guard position, great ball handling skills and scorer.

Perry Jones = Kevin Durant. Has committed to a college yet?

Trade JRich for Monta Ellis, come next season. And trade Nash to either of Portland, TOR, NYK for assets. We'll be all set with an Amare/Monta core for the next 5 years. ;)

Perry Jones looks just like Kevin Durant. That would be incredible. Too bad he'll go in the top 3 and the odds of us being that terrible are slim to none
