I suppose having the fans vote is a good for the league but ... I hate it. In my sunnier moments I would have thought that the hardcore fans might have rewarded players with limited exposure, the GWallace's of the league. I would have been wrong.

It's just a beauty contest and an easily-rigged one at that. At least the reserves are merit-based

This is really ridiculous. Sports writers/owners/players/fan voting should all have a 25% say. That way someone whose played less then 30 minutes a season won't make it.

That being said, I'm going to go vote Nash now.

yeah what's wrong with all those ppl who voted for TMAC (don't take it personal) at least vote for someone who deserves it, not because he fills the storylines with his conflicts.rumors etc.

The NBA should ban China from voting.

And lose a massive fan base?

But yeah, it does suck if McGrady passes Nash, especially since Nash is so deserving this season.

I wonder if you could get like a huge amount of people to agree to vote for someone like paul shirley or something and start him for the allstar game...you know, just to make a point lol

It's ridiculous that TMEC who has played about 30min this whole season should be voted in as a starter over Nash, who is in or very close to MVP form. I remember last season when Yi got a ton of votes and was something like 3rd or 4th in the East for forwards.

FWIW, the All-Star game is for the fans, so it should be run by fans. But it's so wrong for the hardcore fans

I hate internet polls with a passion so basing All-Star selections on it is just plain ridiculous IMO.

And don't just blame this on Chinese fans either. Didn't Shaq make the team one year when he had barely played ... there are ignorant fans who just vote for their favourite players regardless of where they come from. This has just been magnified because there are just more of them.

It'd be a shame if McGrady started in front of Nash. Nash has been awesome.

I wanna see McGrady and Iverson both starting. Because I think it'd be funny.

Iverson starting would actually be kind of cool, because he's an older guy with his last crack at it, and he's actually having a positive impact on the 76ers, so his return to Philly is actually a feel-good story.

But McGrady starting would be ridiculous, and the fact that he would be starting over Nash makes it 1000 times worse. SO DO YOUR DEMOCRATIC DUTY AND VOTE NASH!
