Blow the team up? LOL @ You.

Post#1 » by hunterxaz » Sat Jan 16, 2010 7:36 am

Stat, Nash, Hill, Frye, have all proven reliable starters. Hill is a bit of an exception scoringwise - but he proves helpful in other areas.

After seeing Frye sit most of the 4th, after it was clear he was junked out on the offensive end, I think Gentry is beginning to see the issues. The people who can't score, early on -- hurt us. This includes:

Hill
Jrich
Clark
Lopez
Amundson
Barbosa

If we can get productivity out of 2 of any of those given folks, we usually win. I'm talking 10+ pts, however, if you are a starter, and can't score 10ppg when we need it, you shouldn't be a starter.

We have a sick combo...

Nash
Stat
Frye

Who can score +10+ppg each, every game. Nash and Stat = 20ppg at least. However, our wings, Hill, and Rich, are VERY flakey.

Start Duds, and Lopez, and we have a HUGE front lineup. What do you think?

The Suns are competing with...

Lakers
Spurs
Mavs
Nuggets
Blazers
Rockets
Hornets
Jazz
Thunder
Grizzlies
Clippers

These 11 teams for a playoff spot...Compared to every single one of these teams the Suns have one of the older if not the oldest starting group with Nash, Hill, Jay Rich and Amare. Just compare those four guys alone to the starters of any of these teams and it doesn't look so good right?

Not to mention the Suns bench is weaker than probably all these teams. Also if you look there's a pattern here, these 11 teams are either proven playoff teams are young and upcomming talented teams that will be in the playoffs for the first time. The Suns don't have any young and upcomming talent and they haven't prove they are a contender. They could very well be #12 in the west at the end of the season so why not?

You know your team is in trouble if Channing Frye is part of this "sick combo"

Lopez should be the starter next year. When Frye isn't hitting the 3 ball he's completely useless.

Yeah, pretty much.

If we do decide to keep Frye for next season, I would like Lopez to start over him. Frye could drain threes coming off the bench seeing as that's all he does anyway.

Nah, you start Frye to a) saturate the offense early and b) do a heat check on him.

If he's hot, keep him in the rotation by subbing him in later on as Amare's backup at PF.

If he's cold, play him sparingly.

Yes nevets, yes...

Actually, watching last nights game has steered me slightly from the big KABOOM. I think more minutes for sLopez and a wiser use of FryeDaddy could be a positive adjustment. That and 30 minutes per night for Gogi Bear.

I'd trade Barbososo though, injury or not. He has to have some value left. We all know of the difficulties with JRich, so Barbs is the odd man out. Naturally, we would have to deal with the 'my dog just died' reaction of Nash though.

Its not a deal of neccessity, as IF... IF... IF (please note the emphasis on the big ifs?) if sLopez can give us the kind of production he did against Atlanta, we are a much different team. The big Geico commercial wannaB isn't afraid of knockin people around.

HAHAHA Oh man I literally LOLed when I saw that. Can't wait until our fearless moderator sees it ;)

So you went to the Hawks game? At least you would have gotten your money's worth, it's pretty rare that you get to see 48 minutes of Suns basketball.. usually they take at least 12 minutes off each game ;)

Hopefully they'll bounce back and put away the Cats, although they better not underestimate them.. they are in some decent touch right now.. SJax is playing like a demon.

Sad to say, didn't make it to ATL... had to choose one or the other... and now my pals have bailed. Can't blame them, none are fans of either. Doubt if I roll solo. My girl is workin and the reasons to skip keep mounting, as I think we are in for a spank down. Even with the bright moments of last night.

I just hope for another good outing from sLopez and Dragic. I'd take 2 more road losses if those boys could start to perform. Outside of a favorable non blow up trade, I (gulp) think they are the keys to the season's success.

We know what we have with all the rest. With Nopez and the Gman, we actually have a bit of defensive on the floor, at the positions where we sorely need it.

As usual Frank, you speak the truth - I think Goran Lightfoot will keep contributing at an impressive clip, however I think it will take until around the All Star game for our pal Fropez to start showing the same consistency. Time will tell.

I just hope Gentry doesn't take the loss as a sign that playing these young'uns to close it out tonight was a mistake - the last thing we need is to go back to the star-studded all defensive lineup of Nash/ Rich/ Hill/ Amare/ Frye to close out games.

orlando really needs a point guard.... we really need a center and not tissue soft PF posing as a center

nash deserves to be on a contending team after all he's done for this franchis... the nash era is ending... i propose this trade:

This is not the day to make a thread about not blowing up the team. When the worst offense in the league can score 70 points in a half, somethings wrong. Or everything

I think the suns needs to cut the crap about a jump shooting, soft center. they need an actual center that complements amare. I think grant should do the right thing and admit to himself he cant hack it anymore. I think the suns Barbosa needs to start and j-rich to off the bench.

Agree - start Frye for his offense and ability to spread the floor. If he goes cold, replace with Rolo. And if he stays hot, bring Rolo in anyway and have Frye, Stat and Rolo as front-line. Add Duds as SG/SF and we look pretty good.
I'd like to see Duds play some SG over JRich.
