finding a positive in the negatives

Post#1 » by jazzy_jeff » Tue Jan 19, 2010 3:35 am

Maybe this road trip, and really the Suns overall record of the last several weeks, has convinced Kerr he needs to make a trade.

J-Rich -- addition by subtraction?
He does so little to help this team. Thing is, when he's on, HE'S ON. But that's too few and far between.
When I breeze past, breathe fast, on point like Steve Nash

He hasn't been the same since his wrist injury.

hopefully if kerr does decided to pull a move, then it helps out a lot. i wouldnt mind seeing if hughes gets bought out from ny, so we can pick him up and trade jrich for big men that we need.
theres no such thing as defense in phoenix.

Would be nice to work a three team trade with New York and Houston, where Houston gets J-Rich and the Suns get Larry Hughes

Remind me why we want a 10ppg guy who shoots 36%?

He plays better defense. At worst, he'd have the same offensive efficiency JRich has now. Plus he's only overpaid for this year.

You think an 8ppg who shoots 4 for 11 is better (it's what J-Rich did in Memphis)? Not to mention that Hughes's contract expires this year

I'm fine with anyone who doesn't hurt our future financial flexibility (ie no taking on contracts longer than JRich's). Probably won't get a pick back and he's not even worth expirings anymore.

I brought up J-Rich for Hughes on the NY board a few weeks back. Apparently they need Hughes' expiring so Lebron can come to the Knicks

He sounds a little upset, probably cause we still lost, but at least he's a good soldier about it. He was still inefficient but so was LB :-? . On the other hand, this benching may have permanently neutered Frye.

+1, and I suppose this is the right spot for me to put in my Jared Jeffries pitch ...

not sure how we could do that but time to play with the trade machine

how about Douglas, Hughes and Jeffries for Barbs and JRich? Works -

I would do it. Dunno if NY is willing take on salary and compromise the "Summer of LeBron".

I don't think trading for Hughes or Jeffries will solve anything and in fact probably make our problems even worse. NY won't take on longer contracts either because they want to sign a max FA so the only way to acquire either of those two is if NY waives them.

They really want to unload Jeffreys - D'ant hates his 'no offense' ass
D'Ant also loves barbs

but no, i don't see that happening

Cut back JRich's playing time, he will then become JBich. Buy his ass out next yr for 10 mill and move on. Can't trade him so make it clear that he will not see significant minutes. Thats just the way it is. With all the cap space next yr, someone will pick him up for the 4-5 mill per he is worth, and he nets even.

The only deal I could see him in, is a package with one of Stat or Nash... then you are talking like shuffling 30 mill team to team, which may be too much to arrange.

The fact that he will be making almost as much as a 'max FA' next yr (according to Sideswipe elsewhere... good info BTW) well, that , needless to say, is detrimental to every team.
What ? Me Worry ?
