Hollinger's All-Stars

If you go to ESPN and go to that slide show they have up with McGrady, Iverson, and of course #32. I do feel bad for STAT, and I honestly don't think he should be up there with those two. It's embarrassing to look at. Someone needs to send that picture to him.
( ever since the jersey # change = gorilla mode was

)

I saw it too, I looked at it three times because I thought my eyes were deceiving me .Hollinger is a fool if he really thinks that Amare is not an All-star. ESPN fire this fool, if Amare is not an All-star who really is?

Not an insider. What does he say in the article?

I sort of get his argument. I actually think Zach Randolph is more deserving of an All-Star spot in the West this year, than Amare. Randolph has had more of an impact for his team, and has better raw stats.

You can't compare McGrady and Iverson with Amare. McGrady has hardly played and Iverson sat out a lot of games and is not putting up amazing numbers as yet.

I don't remember the article in detail, but I think the only way he's saying Amare is like McGrady and Iverson is that they're all players who are on the ballot who are taking away from players who deserve to be there more, and he specifically cites Zach Randolph.

All-Star game is specifically for the fans, and obviously the fans don't like Zach Randolph. No one "deserves" to be on the All-Star team, it is "earned" by getting votes. To get votes, first off, fans have to like you (and making videos on Youtube with David Spade doesn't hurt either). Hollinger is an idiot.

Its funny how Hollinger is taking shots at Amare when no one is saying a word about Andrew Bynum and everybody knows he's suctacular. Totally agree with Zach Randolph being an All-star but not at the expense of Amare how about Bynum

Ridiculous. Just like the other "breaking" story about Amar'e trade rumors - ESPN has shown no competence in NBA lately. They need some new reporters.

Umm, maybe because Amare was the one voted in and not Bynum? I dunno.
And Bynum has not been worse than Amare. They haven't figured out how best to pair him with Gasol yet. The guy was a beast prior to Gasol coming back.

I understood when he said Amare shouldn't have been listed as a center because he's been playing power forward all year but he lost me when he compared him to McGrady or Iverson.

I am, yes. It's a bit of a rip-off, but there is lots of interesting information. The stupid part is the magazine subscription. They end up posting pretty much everything from the magazine on their website at some point, so there's no reason to have it unless you like the photos.

So you're ok with McGrady starting over Nash? You know, cause the fans want that...
I think we should drop the popular vote and come up with some other ideas cause this system is clearly failing.

Yeah, like even if you are voted in, you have to have played in at least 50% of your team's games to be eligible.
And just to clarify, is the argument for Amare not being on "worthy" of a ballot spot because players like Zach Randolph are more deserving? Is that what he is implying?
Funny, because I thought Amare got voted in as a CENTRE over a bunch of no name scrubs (Bynum is ok but I think he was 2nd in voting?) Nothing wrong with that... since when is Zach Randolph a Centre? Pretty sure he's a FORWARD and Marc Gasol is the C.
If Anyone is taking away from Randolph's place on the ballot, wouldn't it be one of the 20+ forwards on the West ballot, not a centre..?
Surely I am missing something here.

Some fans shouldn't count.

And they should have to play a certain amount of games or minutes lol.
