I'd love J-Rich if he was a 4-6 million a year player.

8 mil is pushing it but I'll let it go. JRich around 4-6mil would be a bargain.

I wouldn't mind him making 8 million either. I mean, right now his making what, 13 million? That's a lot and a 5 million decrease in salary really is quite a fair bit and plus he does provide us with some high scoring nights so I wouldn't be too angry if he was making 8 million although 4-6 million would be ideal.

He's still a bonehead. Yeah he had a good game in a blowout win against the worst team in the league. Wait for him to follow that up with a dismal week.

JRich always plays well against crap teams but chokes hard every time we play a good/decent team.

Yeah. I don't know if many of you will follow this analogy but he's a lot like Matt Williams was for the d-backs. He'd strike out every time when the game mattered but when it was 9-0 he'd hit a solo homerun. Jrich is a lot like that. He never does it when it matters.

Yeah J-Rich needs to find consistency. However, maybe he works a lot better off the bench. Hopefully he can contribute a solid 14 points off the bench if the Suns continue to start Barbosa.

Even if they can't trade him this year, he's going to be a big expiring next season

The win over the nets should be used as a template how to use JRich. He seemed more assertive on the glass and slashing to the rim. Still got lit up by Jarivs Hayes but whatever. We should use him as offense off the bench. Playing him with Dragic is good too because Dragic doesn't dominate the ball like Nash, which gives JRich the opportunity to iso where he is more effective.

As for the dunking, maybe he's lost that mentality as he's aged. Can't recall the exact interview but when asked about dunking, he jokingly replied he wasn't a young'n anymore (not exact words).

That's exactly what I've been saying. When he becomes the main decision maker on offense he plays a lot better, like when he plays with Dragic who doesn't handle the ball nearly as much as Nash. He reverts back to his days when he didn't play with a ball dominating PG with the Bobcats and still scored a ton.

Problem is he can get too greedy with the ball. There were a couple fast-breaks tonight he screwed up that could've been avoided by passing the ball. Just the thought of JRich running the fastbreak... :nonono:

True, but I'd rather he be a little greedy and know what shot he wants to take rather than him chucking bad shots because he has no control over when he'll get the ball next. JRich has always been the number one offensive option wherever he played and he had a lot of control over the offense and it's only now that he's with Phoenix has he played with such a ball dominating decision maker in Nash. I still don't think he's comfortable with being directed exactly where to go, I think he sees himself as more of an iso player rather than a spot up shooter that he's been with Nash directing the plays.

Good analysis. I'm fine with using JRich like that if it helps his play and keeps us winning.

J Rich excels as a finisher on the fastbreak but we just don't have that many fastbreak opportunities anymore.
Maybe it's a product of us not having Marion and also Nash getting older but I think we do need to push the ball a little bit faster up court.
