Blow-up/Rebuild - PHX/TOR/GS

Post#1 » by DirtyDez » Thu Jan 21, 2010 5:20 am

PHX sends: Steve Nash, Amare Stoudemire, Leandro Barbosa, Earl Clark, Jarron Collins and 2010 2nd Round Pick.
PHX gets: Monta Ellis, Andrea Bargnani, DeMar DeRozan, Brandon Wright, Marco Belinelli and 2010 1st Round Pick.

TOR sends: Andrea Bargnani, DeMar DeRozan, Marco Belinelli and 2010 1st Round Pick.
TOR gets: Steve Nash, Leandro Barbosa, Earl Clark and 2010 2nd Round Pick

GSW sends: Monta Ellis and Brandon Wright.
GSW gets: Amare Stoudemire.

Why we do it: Cut 35+ million from payroll. Suns' management finally realizes that this current team is going no where. Gets some talent before Amare walks and Nash retires even if it means giving up 3 fan favorites.
- Monta Ellis is a top 10 scorer, he's young with a reasonable contract. With the scoring on this team he'll have less pressure to create and limit his turnovers. Can only get better.
- Andrea Bargnani is an offensive PF who can spread the floor and is cheaper than Amare. An Offensive/Defensive combo with him and Lopez down low for many years.
-DeMar DeRozan is the sleeper. Potential star SF, remarkable athlete, young, perfect for this system and cheap.
- Brandon Wright is young, cheap, athletic shot-blocker who can run the floor while serving as a decent back-up PF.
-Marco Belinelli is a sharp-shooter, young, cheap and good LB replacement for back-up SG.

--- 2010 1st Round pick = Potential replacement for J-Rich.

Why TOR does it: Finally get their Canadian Son and Top 5 PG. Instant super-star trio with Nash, Turkaglue and Bosh. Can finally trade Calderon.

Why GS does it: Nellie finally gets his dominant low-post scorer without giving up golden child Randolph and Curry.

PG: Ellis, Dragic
SG: J-Rich(1more year), Belinelli
SF: Hill(1 more year), DeRozan, Dudley
PF: Bargnani, Wright, Lou
C: Lopez, Frye
- 2010' 1st Round pick replacement for J-Rich

Time to get younger and rebuild. Future>Living in the past...

Amare would never re-sign in GS, and if he agreed to a sign-and-trade, would veto GS. As i said before IF he gets moved, it will be either HOU,OKC,CHI, or MIA. Those are the only "contending" teams that have the cash, need, and players to do so.

And how does TOR pick up Nash without giving up a PG? Nash/Calderon/Jack/Banks. I agree Nash should play for the Raptors, but this trade would not cut it.

They've been trying to trade Calderon's huge contract for a while and could prob get expirings since he's a decent PG. They have to eat Banks' deal but it ends after next year. Colangelo could make it work.

They'd lose 55+ mil with Monta over the next 5 years. Monta makes the same as Nash... Curry, Randolph, Morrow all potential starters are cheap. Beads make 9 mil. They need to lose Maggette plus they have like 6 expirings coming off the books this year including Raja.

EXACTLY! There have been no takers for Calderon. I doubt they could get rid of him, and every team eats Banks deal!

You must be over-looking the "Contender" part. Let me break it down for ya!

GS is NOT a CONTENDER!!!! Amare has already said he would NOT play in GS, so no way they give up pieces for 3 months of Amare.

Ugh, no way I want to touch Ellis. That guy has to be one of the stupidest players in the nba. I was just watching as he fouled Lawson on a last second half court shot. Yes, he can score, but he is not going to take a team deep. Hes just dumb. I don’t like this trade at all.

So you're saying Amare would take a pay cut if he went to a contender? THE GUY WANTS TO GET PAID!!!

He wants to get paid AND play for a contender, hence HOU,OKC,CHI,and MIA.

Well this is assuming Kerr has the balls to trade Nash in the first place so...

So you're telling me he wouldn't go to New Jersey if they were the only team to offer him Max?

No, I dont, and i dont think they would be the only team to offer him the Max.

As i see it, they say we are in talks with Amare, and I think they are trying to work a sign-and-trade (since we can offer the most) and send him to a contender (HOU,MIA,OKC,CHI).

I think Phoenix would riot if we traded Nash. I didn't wanna get banned for bringing it up.

Keep David Lee (s&t after they land their max players, or not, whatever), Deng, and maybe Tyrus Thomas. Add Chicago's 1st rounder and let's assume they underachieve and get us a lottery pick!...

Dragic
(Evan Turner/Xavier Henry)/J-Rich
Luol Deng/EC
David Lee/Thomas/Lou
Lopez/Collins

Did I mention it saves a ton of money? It saves a ton of money

NY gets D'antoni's child
CHI only cuts 4 mil into their cap space while getting 1 top free agent, leaving them with enough for 1 more max contract (I think)
MIN get's someone to shoot 3's in the triangle offense as there's no way they're landing anybody

Return to Phoenix Suns
