The latest on Amare

Post#1 » by KLEON » Wed Jan 27, 2010 4:45 pm

Just saw ESPN First Take and Chris Broussard is reporting that all the rumours involving Amare are mostly fault and the only teams that has a little shot at acquiring him are the Nets and Heat. He also said that Amare wants to stay in Phoenix and is looking for a max deal but the Suns cant afford that but the Suns are trying to work out a way to keep him because they really don't want to trade him. He also said the the Cavs didn't call about Amare.

Nice. Amare and Steve are the heart and soul of the team. Keep them.

Amare seems to have given up. Not much heart and soul there.

Amare is one of our most emotional players. There's a reason why he draws techs, slaps his chest, pumps his fists, does dominant poses after dunks, etc. Last night he had foul trouble though.

JRich... 2/12... in 45 minutes last night. Now there, there is a guy who has no heart and soul.

Latest comments from Dumars say he's not going to make a trade that would potentially make us worse in the long run for a player that might only help us this year...

Translation, he's not trading assets for a player who's a FA this summer and might leave.

Amare has to be moved -- for the good of himself and this team.

I don't discount how great of a player he can be -- and has been for this team. But they can win without him. They proved that down the stretch last season
When I breeze past, breathe fast, on point like Steve Nash

The Suns just need one more consistent player besides Nash and Amare. It seems like every game someone has to step up for us to even be remotely close.

Three team trade
Suns get-
Kevin Martin

Kings get-
Andre Iguadala

76ers get-
Jason Richardson
2nd Round pick

Sixers are terrible and they will continue to be terrible for the next several years with their current nucleus (Brand- 4 years, Iggy- 5 years). Quite frankly, their players just don't mix well, and while Richardson is no upgrade, they drop close to 30mil at the end of next season. More than enough to make big changes to the franchise.
Suns get a consistent (if healthy) Kevin Martin.
Kings get a different look.

Ok now this thread is starting to grow into more trade ideas and should probably be merged into the Amare trade talk thread.

Amare shoulod stay bui this organization is just to cheap to actually care about retaining an all star PF.

Instead of quietly listening to offers Kerr and some from the FO have leaked all these rumors so that fans feel their is no choice but to trade him.

Only if T-Will is in the deal. If we keeep losing i think Kerr has to make a deal. Look at our next 5 games:
vs Dallas (L)
@Houston (L)
@New Orleans (L)
@Denver (L)
@Sacramento (L)

They might win one or two of those but at best they will probably be at 28-24 after that roadtrip

We're not getting Kevin Martin for Jason Richardson.

Did we really, really, really need a new thread on this :/? Second one you've started today even though I moved the first one. I know it seems like the best time in the world but merging topic after topic after topic isn't as fun as you think it is. I'm locking this one, because there's nothing here that hasn't been discussed in the main thread, and the more I merge things, A)the more messed up the main thread becomes, and B)it appears as though it makes no difference as you'll probably start another thread. Please, please PLEASE try to keep things centralized.
