elton brand fan here..and im wondering what people here would feel if he was traded here? i know he had 2 injuries in the past but both were freak accidents not related to one another..and when that idiot eddie jordan plays him he is very productive like he was before the injuries..i live here in az and know him well and i worked for the suns for one season...and i think he would fit in with the type of player and person the fans out here like ( i.e nash, hill in the past..rodney rodgers among other low key good people and players) also he was coached by gentry while in l.a. so he knows what he is about. i was thinking if u had to trade amare..i figured amare and richardson..for andre iggy and my man brand..what ya think? works in trade checker already

Too much money. imo Suns would only take Iggy + Dalembert because SD's contract expires with J-Rich in 2011.

Im so down to have Andre I.......Brand not so much I honestly would rather have speights and then you got yourself a deal. EB is just a risk with his injury.

Iggy would be nice, but no way they keep both Amare and Brand. It would have to be a 3 team trade and Brands contract and production is bad. He should have stayed with the clips. bad karma the way he went out.

Brand is far too expensive and really doesn't make a whole lot of sense for us anyway.

No way. Brand has a ridiculous contract. Could probably keep Amare with that type of money.

His contract is an expiring the same year Nash retires, I'd definately take a chance on him if it brought Igoudala.

+1
Especially with a pick involved too.

Forgot about that, makes it an even better deal, wonder what management is waiting for?

Brand's contract runs through 2012/13. Nash expires in 2011/12. I always thought Brand was overrated. He is playing very poorly this year too.

True, but you have to take external factors into consideration. He's gotten very inconsistent play with injury, Speights, etc - BUT his play has been improving lately. I'd like to see what he could do given consistent minutes and barring further injury.

I'd rather re-up Amare for the max than take on Brand for another 3-4 years (however long his contract is). Honestly, I have no idea what Philly was thinking when they gave Brand his ridiculous contract. Wasn't he like injured when he was signed?

+1 sorta
After some thought I say no to taking on Brand, even if it means getting Iggy. The financial risks far outweigh the potential payoff of such a deal. Not sure about re-upping Amare for the max but we could probably find a deal that wouldn't kill our future financial flexibility.

He showed nothing which would make him deserving of that contract. Philly was thinking they were one piece away from being a legitimate title contender and thought Brand was THAT piece. They also didn't want any surprises from the Clippers or any other team giving him an offer so they gave him a fat check.

IIRC, that was a horrible year for FA signings.
Brand and Maggette come to mind...

The Suns just need to extend Amare for about the same price range that Brand has, trade Richardson's expiring next season to a desperate team, develop our young players in Goran, Clark, and Lopez, and keep our role players focused in Jared Dudley and Louis Amundson.
I think we have a great group of guys, we just need one piece that will make this team gel.

I still wouldn't want to re-up Amare for max but if i had to choose between Brand and Amare, I'd take Amare on max.

Any day. If Kerr is somehow able to convince Amare to stay for 15mil a year (plus or minus 2.5mil), I would take it.

Anything between 14-18 would be OK

Isn't 18 year 1 max money?
