Some team is going to overpay him...He's basically just a less athletic Lou Amundson with a jumpshot.

12mil at most. But I think more along the lines of 9-11mil. I think owners are taking a stand to not overpay players anymore.

I said 14. Yes teams are taking a stand but at the same time there will be losers in the big free agency class and some second tier players are going to become hot targets. So not that he should be paid more, but I think somebody's gonna offer him more.

+1

I say he's worth about $10mil and even $12mil seems like you're overpaying him. Then again, there's a large possibility someone buys into the "Summer of 2010" hype and overpays him $13-$14mil.

I think he deserves $8-10m/year, but I think he could fetch $12-14m.

I think Lee can start at 9 mil and increase salary 1mil per year until 12-13mil.

I could see one of the "biggest losers" in the DWade/LeBron/Bosh sweepstakes looking to David Lee and giving him pretty good money for a 3 year contract or a bit less to start out a 5. Just because we know players shouldn't get contracts, doesn't mean they won't. Look at Brand's contract in Philly this season for God's sake. I could probably get signed for a million if he can get 84 or whatever he got.

This is tough. Everyone lauded the Brand signing in the beginning, because everyone figures he'd be the player he was with the Clippers. His contract with Philly was before all of the shoulder injuries.

David Lee = 20 and 12 this year. Amare = 21 and 8... It's not even close. Lee at 10 mil>Amare at 17+ mil.

I think that the question remains, who will give him the cash. What teams have the money and need a PF. The list isn't as long as you may think. OKC is definitely a possibility. I say Lee gets a deal starting a 10 per from the Knicks.

I think he gets five years and total around 55-60

really, if you haven
t been watching the Knicks, you couldn't really know how much his game has improved - great IQ, excellent passing for a big, improved offense to an impressive degree. Great attitude

he is sooo much the kid of guy the Suns love

ask him to defend and he will, I bet you anything

I have been begging for Lee here since his rookie year, he was exactly what we needed when back in D'Antoni era.

He has reputation of a terrible defender, but it's because D'Antoni plays him at center where everybody is longer and stronger, and the're just going right at him. Under Isiah Thomas Lee was playing PF, and he was decent defender. People also keep forgetting he was playing Point Guard for some time in school and ha excellent court vision, with his newly deceloped 18-20 feet jumper he would thrive here. Plus he rebounds like there's no effing tomorrow.

He might get contract starting at circa 11-12 million i think, that was the amount his agent was looking for last summer.

I doubt any team will offer him much until after the new CBA takes effect. That might not happen until after a ugly labor strike.
