Marbury makes first apperance for China.

Former NBA star Stephon Marbury made his first appearance for his new team, Shanxi, on Monday.

Shanxi lost 102-101 to Dongguan Marco Polo as Marbury recorded 15 points, eight assists, four rebounds and four steals.

"The time difference is a big problem," Marbury told The Post via Skype. "I wake up early, in the middle of the night, and stay up most of the day. It stinks. I have not played since the last game against the Magic [in the second round of the playoffs last May]. So I was tired. I played 28 minutes, all of the fourth quarter. Talk about being tired. Wow. It was fun being out there though."

Marbury reportedly passed up a final shot with five seconds remaining as Shanxi lost.

Not bad numbers for him. Maryvale should we pick him up? lol

They should, Barbosa is out with an injury and Dragic still has trouble running the point. Should move him to SG and bring in Marbury.

The fact that he has not played since the magic game tells you all you need to know about starbury. Most top notch players keep themselves in shape, He was a top-notch talent but never cared enough to be a top notch player.

He was a ton of fun to watch back in the day though... I don't mean to bash him.

honestly mary this is exactly what gets to me about your logic.. nash is averaging and putting up WAY better numbers at his age and has 2 MVP's in his bag yet you have sooooo much nash hate!!

Exactly. Marbury may have good numbers, but has never elevated the team he is on.

LOL I love how Marbury is playing in China and still only put up these numbers. And gives excuses of course. Bonzi Wells played in China and regularly got in the 50 point range. And LAUGH at the fact that Marbs is only making what $50,000 a year.

that is probably his salary from the team he plays for. it isnt what he makes in a year, which is probably a much bigger figure than it would have been if he were sitting at home rather than playing in china.
