I expect a LB trade, not Amare

Post#1 » by Mr. Sun » Fri Feb 5, 2010 12:43 am

Don't be surprised it is LB the one who gets moved for an expiring. Saver wants payroll cut. Sarver doesn't want to pay the tax. Trading Amare won't realistically accomplish this.

Trading LB will.

Lux threshold is $69.2, Suns payroll is $74.7 million.

LB is Sarvers only realistic means to acquire an expiring to get under the lux tax threshold.

I personally wouldn't mind seeing him go but overall I don't think we will have to worry about that, I doubt any team trades for him while he's injured.

There's like a 5 mil difference in salaries though, which I'm sure our FO would be ok with but I doubt they would be. Therefore we demand Speights and his almost 2 mil salary, give em some cash (they're under the cap I think), save more in luxery tax, and call it a day.

If it's Amare + LB we'd be taking on 2 mil extra this year, and I think it'd even out next year. I find that situation questionable.

So yeah, I think you're probably right. I get the feeling like they're gonna have to settle on smaller pieces before it goes through (i'd expect 2nd round picks, cash, and small contract players from Philly)

They played a prank on LB last year saying he was traded. He cried. He is a Sun for life.

Next thread.

i remember that. the lesson was for nba players not to use their actual names for check-in to hotels for away trips.

I could see the Suns trading him to the Thunder for Etan Thomas and our first round draft pick back. I would definitely be against it. Again, the only player I want off this team is Jason Richardson. Everyone else seems fine.

LB was playing great basketball the first few games with J-Rich's suspension. I think his wrist was consistently bothering him (thus the surgery).

i wouldn't be surprised if in fact LB gets shipped in place of Amar'e. I still think that Amar'e will remain a Sun.

Elton Brand can't play uptempo bball. For the Suns, he'll be no better than a 50-year old Shaq

same here, barbs might be traded before amare. not just cause im bandwagoning but cba and a major risk takes place if amare gets traded/ opts out.

not sure if you are aware but eb played for gentry back in la..they got along well..and he played well for him..but they gave the job to dunleavy...he did very well in his system...with darius miles...quentin richardson...lamar odom...so yes he can do well in uptempo..but you need a coach who know what the hell there doing...and in philly those a.s.s. clowns have no idea how to run a team from top to bottom

who cares about Barbosa... Let him go. We don't need his selfish play.
