Quote of the week....

"To be honest, one of the reasons we loved him [RoLo] is because he would smash a door," Kerr said. "Don't tell anybody I said that, but we fined him for that and we made him pay for the door, but inside the office we're throwing high-fives because you need a guy like that. It's what we saw when he was at Stanford, and when we interviewed him before the draft. He's got a fire inside his belly, and you don't often see that in seven-footers. All of a sudden he just looks like he belongs out there."

He's played in almost 100 games so far in his NBA career and he only has one double digit rebounding game...
Not expecting him to be a league leader in rebounds or anything but only 1 double digit rebounding game for a 7 footer? Still wished they took Speights or Jordan over him...

Yeah maryvale I agree he needs to rebound more. Hopefully that will come and bill cartwright will work out his boxing out techniques. He seems like he could be a good offensive rebounder in the way tyson chandler is being big around the basket throwing back misses for dunks. He's lucky to play with such a great point guard in Nash. Lopez is developing though can't deny it he's taken a big step forward.

It doesn't matter if he played in 1,000 games; it's the limited minutes per game that has limited him in rebounds. If I didn't know better I'd say Mary is trying to insinuate any 7-footer should have double digits if he plays 5 minutes a game

So far he's started in over 10 games and not a double digit reboudning one yet but you're right, let's wait and see there's 31 games left.

He might not have the rebounding numbers, but we have been much better on the boards since he got the start. In the 11 games he started, we won 9 of the rebounding battles, which has been one of our major concern over the years. If the team is collectively benefiting with him on the floor, I am fine with whatever numbers he is bringing.

But Lopez doesn't rebound at a high rate. In fact, per 36, he's actually a worse rebounder than Amare.

hard to get double digit rebounds in 12 minutes of game time.

MVF doesn't post with logic in mind, he posts with the intent to troll people.

I'm usually first on the "MVF is a clown" bandwagon, but like I said, he's right. Lopez is a worse rebounder per 36 than Amare. How do you explain that away?

Still in development stages. Meaningless to dwell.

But if we are going to compare 36 minute stats, how come Lou would average almost three more boards than Amare? Maybe we should start Lou instead of Amare.

Just kidding,
Lopez will find his stride. He definitely doesn't have the athleticism of Amare. If he used some of that door crushing power on the boards, maybe we would see a greater change in rebounds per game from Lopez.

Can we be happy for once with the freakin 2 year man??!?! Geez first it's he's a bust, then he dont play, then he dont do this or that. He's made huge strides, ever think maybe he's not quite done developing yet? Ever notice how big men tend to take a lil longer to fully develop and come into their own?

Yeah, It took Noah a couple of years before he starts to do well.

Just kidding,
I'm certainly not saying to start Amundson, but you're sort of proving my point. Amundson is a better rebounder than Amare, and the per 36 numbers reflect that.

I'm plenty happy for him. He's far better than I expected. My sole point is that, if we regard Amare as a bad rebounder, and Lopez averages even fewer rebounds per 36 than Amare, then Lopez is also a bad rebounder. Maybe he'll become a good one, but for now, he isn't. And that makes MVF right.

lopez is active, his shoulders are not as broad and his body is not as thick as his brother. I have a twin myself and developmentally he was ahead of me and now we are even. Im not sure if Robin will become that 20/10 guy like brook but Robin will develop. Amare does not have the anticipation skills and motor. Robin has the motor but the reason his rebounding numbers is low, He tries to block everything. He also rotates to Amare's man so at times he is not in a good position to board. Amare is suprisingly flat foot on the glass on defense. He gets enough because he likes to pad his stats not necessarily because he is a greater rebounder than robin.

I'm sorry but I just checked out Amare's and RoLo's per 36 RPG and RoLo is only behind Amare by 0.2 RPG, so really, that is not that bad.
But btw the warden, I love your Leon avatar
