I'm not a Suns fan, and was hoping you guys could help me with something: why is Z and Hickson close to being done, but Ray Allen and Glen Davis is something that wouldn't entice Kerr (according to today's wiretap)? I can see Hickson being somewhat more appealing than Davis, but wouldn't the Celtics pick be higher than the Cavs, and wouldn't Ray's expiring be better than Z's (given that Ray can help for the rest of the season)?

I guess I just don't understand it, and was hoping that someone could shed some light on this. Do the Suns really think Hickson is that good?

Hickson is better than a fat PF that can't run in the Suns system.

The pick is an important piece, but the inclusion of Hickson is the point of the trade.
In case you don't understand, if Hickson wasn't included, the terms will not be agreed by the Suns management, regardless of the inclusion of the pick or not.

My guess is you're a Celtics fan.
So picture this. If you had to give up KG for someone, you want someone who is either as good as KG or potentially be better than KG in return.
So, will you give up KG for let's say, Kenny Thomas and Hilton Armstrong?

Same answer to why we wouldn't give up Amar'e Stoudemire, an extremely monstrous offensive threat, for Glen Davis, a player who has less than average athleticism and doesn't rebound the ball as "good" as Amar'e, and Ray Allen, who happens to be a shooting guard, a position we are saturated with.
Plus, the pick was never the key to the trade, it's just the sweetener, to make the offer look more worthwhile comparing with others.

BEcause Ray Allen is going to retire, and currently sucks. Davis is also a slug, and he's not a good player.
