How Steve Kerr becomes GM of the year! Oh and more importantly the suns become possible contenders again…
First and foremost we have to shed ourselves of JRICH and more importantly his contract. On a side note I wish we could pay him on the consistently of his play! It would be like:
Steve Kerr says, “Hey J, great game, 7-9 from the arch, I like it, here’s your pay check just like normal.”
Next Paycheck…
Steve Kerr says, “Hey J, good job averaging 4 pts this week, might want to lay off the booze, especially cause this weeks check doesn’t have all the zeros behind it. Better luck next week!"
But I digress… I think the two teams that would be dumb enough to take him are GOLDEN STATE (especially if they move Maggette) / the Clippers, because lets face it neither organization really gives a crap about their franchise. Here are the scenarios that I think would make all parties involved happy.
PHOENIX: JRICH
GLD STATE: Bell (injured)
Wright (injured)
Azubuike
Or
Clippers: Camby
Thorton
Telfair
Clippers scenario works because: They want to trade those players anyways, I like Thorton, and think would be a great replacement for Hill in the near future. Camby adds a better center for our potential playoff run. Buy out/ waive/ maybe keep Telfair, but only if he is nice.
Golden States works because: Azubuike would be a good player to replace JRICH (averaging about the same in stats). Bringing Bell back would make fans happy even though he couldn’t play. Also we would have the rights to Brandon Wright who was awesome in college and we would have a year to see if he could actually play.
Personally I’d take the clipper deal. That being said our next move is to move Amare. Though I am torn on what to do with him (stay or keep) but I think for all parties involved it would be best to get someone else.
So we send him to the dark horse in the corner…. Ready?
Utah Jazz!
Phoenix: Amare
Utah: Boozer/ Korver
I don’t see any reason why these two teams don’t make this trade. The Jazz have made it clear that they would love to move Boozer, and I think he would be the PF the Suns need down low to go against Duncan, Dirk, Pau, etc. He actually plays defense and is capable of putting up 20 pts and 8 rebs.
Korver is purely for salary reasons, but nevertheless he is a good role player and possible 6th man.
So here is your second half of the season line up:
Nash/Dragic/Telfair
Dudley/Barbosa/ Korver
Hill/ Thorton/ Clark
Boozer/ Frye/ Admunson
Camby/ Lopez/ Frye
In short the Suns are a better team with these trades and it fulfills our cheap owners demands. Also we actually get something in return for our 5 time all-star/ all nba first-team player.
As well as:
We have added better-experienced players
We added a more defensive presence
We haven’t lost anything in scoring
We only added players that are expiring
Make it happen Kerr!
