Who would Phx match up well in the playoffs?

We need to try and avoid the Lakers in the first round. And I wouldn't want to play the Spurs either because they happen to always beat us. I would love to play either, Dallas or Jazz. Who do the Suns fans want to play in the playoffs?

Thunder. Our chances would be good because their lack of experience would show.

Jazz, and Spurs. However I think we would be out coached in both instances.

Am I the only one hoping the Suns match up with the Lakers? They already beat them once at home and I'd love to see an upset.

Lakers are destroying everyone without Kobe Bryant and barely lost to Celtics last night by a point.

The W's beat the 67 win Mavs in a series so anything can happen. Especially with Kobe being hurt and Suns-Lakers matchups always bring hype and drama (Raja clotheslining Kobe, etc). Even if they can't beat them it wouldn't be the end of the world but it would be sweet if they did and had that chance.

As it stands now, we're at Denver which wouldn't be a cakewalk, but is still winnable
In terms of who I'd hope for, it would be against either Dallas or Utah

man upsetting the lakers in the 1st round would be the best thing this franchise has ever done that would be epic (best thing possible short of winning a ring)
odds are not in our favor though

Anyone but Portland. They aren't the best team but they just seem to destroy us in big games. I kinda want the Spurs or Lakers. We've got nothing to lose and if we win that's huge, if we lose eh.

I f we knocked LA out in the 1st round, I would feel almost as good as if we won it all.

^^ Yes
If the Suns can knock out the Lakers..... its like winning the 'ship really.... or atleast second best scenario for Suns fans...
Suns fans (98.9% of us) HATE Lakers MOST ......

Anyone but Lakers (duh), and strangely Dallas.
We match up well with them, but they'll have homecourt, and Dirk has been very, very clutch this year. He has moved passed his past choking tendencies, and has come out a mentally stronger player. Those three years, from 06-08, having the 'ship slip through his fingers, and MVP year, and then losing to Don Nelson's velociraptor warriors, would destroy a lot of NBA careers....Michael Beasely would probably kill himself.
But Dirk has been nothing but impressive this year...a stronger player and will do some damage this postseason with all the new weapons Mark Cuban has gotten him. (God I wish we had their owner)

If we play the Mavs we can't have Amare or Hill guarding Dirk. I'd rotate RoLo and EC on him and play Amare at #5. Otherwise he will just abuse Hill and Amare. It will all come down to playing the right players and not the same old lineup with Nash handling the ball which enables smart teams to just take out Nash in order to prevent us from scoring.

this. i think if Clark has proven anything it's that individual defensive assignments are something he can do at least moderately well. i could see Rolo and Dirk getting into it, sometimes he looks like he's trying to do to other players what he did to that door. That and Dirk is a whiny little girl.

Dallas, Jazz, Lakers????? really?
I was thinking more like Houston, Portland, OKC, and even the Spurs.
Maybe New Orleans, but not the Nuggets.
Any team with a good offense would expose the Suns in a 7 game series.

I believe that vs Denver, there are pretty decent chances that the Suns can disappoint you and win the series

I don't think the Suns can contain Carmelo and Billups, they'd be scoring at will against the Suns defense.
The Suns are only winning against those teams because they are not playing with any intensity against the Suns. Teams take Phoenix lightly because they have poor defense so they relax on them.

These are mere speculations which, methinks, would be better appreciated on the Nuggets boards, but... well, if it makes you happy, then who am I to object?

I think our best chance is against the Spurs even though they own us in the playoffs. Every other team is younger and more physical. We should worry about making the playoffs first ecspecially with the improvemets Houston made last week. The 8th seed is between us and them.
