Nash questionable tonight, 1st glimpse to future?

Post#1 » by JMac1 » Sun Feb 21, 2010 9:57 pm

With Nash possibly being out tonight, we actually get to see 3 of our (hopefully) possibly future starting Suns; Dragic, Amare and Lopez. Lets see what the boys have. I think our front court is playing well, if Clark can grow into an effective SF (man on defense he definately can) then we would be 4/5 there. Go Suns tonight, tomorrow and forever!

Dragic 6'4 23 yrs old (32pt career hi)
Clark 6'10 22 yrs old (16 pt career hi)
Lopez 7'0 22 yrs old (20 pt career hi)
Amare 6'10 27 yrs old (50 pt career hi)

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Dragon is more a problem than Nash with most other teams because of his defense and rebounding.

Dragic is an all out Stud, and i cant wait for him to take over the starting PG spot!! Nash's defense kills us every game and he dominates the ball way too much, thus killing our ball movement. Teams have learned all they have to do is shut Nash down and it kills the ball rotation. When Dragic is in, the ball gets passed more. Thats why i could care less about how many assists Nash gets, as when we get the ball, he kills about 15-20 seconds off the clock by himself, then passes the rock.

Hopefully Lopez has a dominate night tonight (as i have him in my Fantasy line-up!!!) :D

Kind of scared that Dragic might choke starting for Nash. He might feel pressured into doing a good job and then end up psyching himself out. I do hope Clark gets some meaningful minutes tonight. Heck, maybe we should even start him and he ends up beasting like Lopez has when he started and he ends up getting rotation minutes for the final 25-26 games :D Or not...

Unfortunately I agree and its not always his fault because when he is in players expect him to find them open and don't move around as much because they wait for nash to create but when Dragic is in the ball movement is fantastic and everyone gets touches and no one that deserves the ball gets ignored. Many times nash will try to spread the rock but he only allows himself to do it so when he passes to someone they either shoot or pass it back to him. He pretty much decides who shoots, where, and when.

Unfortunately for Amar'e that means if he is on fire he has to pause while Nash tries to get jrich going and when that fails and we go back to amare he lost his fire. Dragic just lets the team work it and get an open shot we have a team of decent passers and vets we don't need nash to dominate anymore. That run n gun style is dead we post up more and our offense is based around good shots not three or die.

Kerrsed, what's the main area Dragic has to improve?

I think his ball handling. He has some good moves, but some times (at least twice a game) he gets a little sloppy with the ball. Other than that, maybe his jumper.

His 3 point shot is on point. His penetration is solid. His defense is stunning.

Yeah, I think he will develop a better three point stroke later on. Especially with The Brazilian Blur and Nash on the team. His defense is very good for a point guard, I really like that about him. About his ball handling, that will come in time, sure he might not be A.I, but I think he'll be solid.

What about Dragics assists?

trade nash

That's going a bit too far.

Glad that more fans see this now. Nash ought to play more like Stockton both on defense and less ball control. :D

How bad could that be? A 88-80 low scoring win like the last? I wouldn't mind this kind of choking on offense.

No, I don't think Nash gets called out for a lot of things he does wrong and are ignored by the things he does right. Kind of like the mentality of this team do good on offense ignore problems in defense. I try to call it like I see it and I never stopped liking Amare and I never stopped liking Nash but if we are going to call out amare for his problems why shouldn't we call out Nash? I don't know about other posters but i'm not basing what I said on his last couple of games its been an on going thing ever since people started figuring out Frye's game and adjusted to our hot start.

Nash is great and dragic is no where near his level but he isn't the coach and Gentry needs to adapt his play style to the rhythm of the team and the team needs to stop thinking nash is going to make plays for them and do what they do with dragic. The ball movement has been **** in the starting line up especially when frye was still in it, Nsah would pass it to jrich or frye and they would just shoot it or pass it back, he would pass it to hill and hill would just dribble and shoot a contested J or pass it back, He would pass it to amare and amare would post up, turn around, and do what he does or just pass it back to nash. No pick n roll, horrible isolations and post ups, Channing frye can't even post up mike bibby, do what works and pick n roll.

^That isn't Nash's fault so much as everyone else on the team just counting on him to pull a play out of his ass. If any of the rest of them took the initiative to manufacture some offense there would be no problem.

Exactly thats why i'm blaming gentry for not doing anything about it and just saying he needs to. its been like that for the last two months.

To gentry's credit the lopez move was a good idea and maybe depending on how well barbosa plays when he returns it would be interesting to see him start.
