Blatche

Post#1 » by SideSwipe » Tue Feb 23, 2010 3:14 am

Has anybody been watching what Blatche has been doing over the last 4 games in WAS? 25pts and 10.25rbd Holy crap!!! Candidate for Amare S&T over the summer if he wants to go to WAS? It's only 4 games, but he has been pretty consistent over those 4 games. If he keep playing like this they won't consider S&T with Amare, they'll just keep Blatche and enjoy the cash. Wow.

Yeah he's looking like a nice piece right now. Sure as hell better than Hickson, that's for sure. Washington's trades really opened the door for him too, he has a lot of room to move around there. I don't think Amare's agent would be too "Happy" about Washington though...

I've always liked Blatched, but he comes off as a bit of a head case.

4 games does erase the fact that blatche has built his rep on potential not production.

He's been good for a while. But he does seem like a knucklehead.

I base that on absolutely nothing.

blatche is a nice player, but i think these numbers are a bit of a stretch. He has good talent, but has been inconsistent most of his career. One night he is productive, the next, cant be found on the court. His D is not good either. Temember, they just gutted their team. And big numbers on bad teams does not add up. Many teams have got cought in this and signed bad players. Remember Banks? Solid numbers before the suns on a bad T-wolves team.

I have always liked him and wanted the suns to pick him up. But I would pass on a S&T for him unless we get the Wash pick unprotected. I cant see Amare want to go there either.

Blatch still averaging 25 and 10. Durant seems to have made a pretty good career of doing well on his bad team. Now they are good. Not saying Blatche is Durant by any stretch, but it's not always the case. Also this last stretch has included wins over DEN and CHI. Not saying he is an all-star yet, but let's give the guy his due.

No disrepect but I'd take you or me over Lou as the starting PF.

26 and 18 for Blatche tonight**EDIT with 6 assists and 3 blocks!!!**......seriously, all this guy was looking for is a chance. I am impressed by his play. On a side note, Robin's 30 and 11 were seriously fun and impressive as well.

Blatche would be a nice pick up for the Suns, although hopefully if he does play in Phoenix then at least he can put up similar stats, I'm not expecting him to put up as good stats but playing alongside Nash would be beneficial for him.

SSwipe is right.....Why would Wash trade Blatche if he continues to post respectable #s ? Signed for 6 mill over the next 2.... thats a bargain.

They have a nice young core with McGee, Blatche, Young, Foye, Thorton, Arenas and his horrid deal. And they are looking to keep Howard.... There are enough unrestricted FA's available to make some improvements to their team w/o losing good, young, cheaply priced talent.

Blatche has shown in the past that he can have these 5-10 game stretches (more from a rebound/blocks perspective tho) but then went missing badly.

I wanted us to make a play for him last time he was a free agent cos he was mostly unknown. Wash thru more money at him then I expected tho. Big guy who can shoot and block a load of shots is exactly what we need. From what I hear he has pretty bad bball iq but I can live with that. Would love to pair him with Amare and have 2 athletic guys who have great size for their position and can both shoot out to the 3.

If he keeps this kind of form up we'll def never get him but who knows if he goes missing again after this stretch maybe Wash will get sick of his inconsistency. After all he has been with them for a few years now so if he can't at least show he can do a role within the team then you have to start to wonder. A bit like Darko really.

If he does have another dip in form, I think he would be pretty well suited here, mainly cos of Nash and our offense. I think he just needs to be involved, and Wash were very much an iso team prior to the trade so if they weren't going to him I think he would just kind of lose focus.

If only we could trade J-Rich and get a line up of

C - Blatche
PF - Amar'e
SF - Hill
SG - Barbosa
PG - Nash
Bench - Dudley, Frye, Amundson, Lopez, Dragic and EC.

At this point Blatche will go right to the top of their untouchable list, I would imagine unless there are serious concerns about character.
