Will Jared Dudley get a ring and all-star in his carrer?

In my opinion.. maybe on the ring, on the all-star, most likely. Do you think he will?

Going with a big fat "no" on the All-Star bid, but I do think he'll play an important bench role on a championship contender, so I'll give him a ring.

You sure? I mean if Michael Finley, Mehmet Okur and Jamal M. can make an all-star game, then Studly can to.

I agree with the second part though.

Sure, I can see him playing sort of a Sixth man role at a star-studded team.

100th post.

He will never be close to an all-star. He'll never be a top 100 player at any given time let alone an all-star.

And of course he could win a ring as a role player. Who couldn't?

Won't be an all-star. I see him staying in a Suns uniform throughout his career and will be a big time role player off the bench, or even starting on rare occasions. I see Clark taking over the three spot sometime during the second half of next season.

Hes probably gonna be like LB or Jason Terry, coming off the bench and bring lots of energy. He can score decently right now I look to him to develop his skills and become more of a scorer not just a hustle guy.

Finley was 10x more talented than Dudley when he was his age. He was a good shooter as is dudley, great jumper and athlete, which Dudley is not. And many people forget what a good ball handler he is for his size.. there was talks of him running point/sg (ala Penny Hardaway) before he was traded for Kidd. Fins was a stud and deserving all-star. I like Dudley a lot and don't rule out a possible all star nod someday (albeit far-fetched) but see him as more of a valuable role player through out his career and is in no way comparable to Finley.

by "jamal m." I assume you are talking about Jamaal Magloire and not Jamal Mashburn because Mash was Crazy Talented before his knees went out and even after his knees were gone he was a very effective player offensively. I think Magloire averaged a double double the year he was an all star and was very good defensively... all star nod well deserved IMO. I think Okur is a very underrated player, I have a hard time seeing Dudley put up numbers like okurs even in our offense. He consistently averages 15-20 points in a very stagnant Utah offense.

The other part of the question is a very good question. I honestly don't see Duds as a career sun unless we are always a contender. He will never be a top tier free agent and seems like the kind of guy winning matters to and the kind of guy that a contender would want off their bench. So I think he has an excellent chance at a ring someday.

I doubt Dudley stays a Sun for his whole career. Role players don't do that. Has it ever happened?

No All Star.

About the Ring, how could anyone know? It's really not about how talented you are at all. You might just get lucky (Morrison/Darko).

He'll never be an all star, probably never close to one but that's okay. What is more realistic is him being in the running for 6th man of the year a few times which is great.

Duds is a James Posey type player. He could certainly get a ring, Kerr got a bunch... But no way to him being an allstar

He'll never get an All-Star nod -- except for maybe participating in events. If he did... that'd be great. I love Dudley.

Ring? Maybe. Depends on what team you're on. Even Adam Morrison has a ring...

The type of player Dudley is, they almost never give them all-star recognition. But probably a ring. I think Boston asked about him last off-season, so yeah, I definitely see him on the bench off a championship team

Duds is just one of those solid role players that every contender needs. I don't see him as an All-star but I see him as 6th man of the year candidate one year. There's being great players never named to an all-star team. here's a few IMO, Bibby and Camby.

No, he could make it one year if a couple things came together - two words: Jamal Magloire

if he had his best year ever, and there were the right injuries, Duds might get the call.
He could easily get a ring - he;'s the kind of guy every great team needs.

I don't know about that. you're wishing for too much in one season. Duds is much closer to being the MIP or 6th MOY than an all-star.

he does enough things well that if there were a situation where he shot more, he could squeak in. The question was will he be an all-star, my answer was, it's possible if the stars align. Not likely, much as I dig the guy's game

agree 6th man or MIP is more likely by far
