He's performing at a high-enough level to keep but not win a title. He still has lots of trade value at his age. He still keeps in good enough shape to extend, although 38+ years of age is pushing it...

If he wants to retire as Suns and would take a small contract then I'm all for extending him. But if he thinks he can still play and could help another team closer to a championship win it all then I'm all for trading him for young talent and picks. Personally, I think he has what it takes to play at a high level even at 40. He may not be able to lead a team or put up huge numbers, but he'll do fine with 12-15ppg and 5-7apg. So either way it's fine, but I would love to see him win a championship before he retires, it would be even better if he could win it with us but I don't see that happening.

I think our FO will just do whatever Nash wants them to do. If he wants to stay then they'll accommodate him, just as if he wants to leave then they'll do what they can to get him to a contender.

Nash will retire as a sun ringless and he will eventually become the gm/coach of the team, where he will lead the team to at least 1 sixpeat and 3 threepeats passing PJ ring count. He will make the greatest of moves that will keep the suns in contention for at least 2 decades.

He will then save enough money just so he can buy the spurs franchise, which he will then relocate to somewhere in the middle of Alaska. He will rename them the Alaska Palins and eventually the franchise will become defunct due to a small fanbase, and thus ruining the spurs legacy.

Nash will then become a first ballot hall of famer and every one will consider him the greatest thing to ever happen to the suns and basketball period. MVF will finally give in and respect Nash after he brings home the 7th title in 9 years. (the clippers and the timberwolves win in between the years the suns don't)

Nash will eventually succeeds Stern as the new commissioner and brings back a new golden era full of competitive, unfixed, entertaining as hell basketball

Honestly this is the only thing i see happening in Nash's future

You guys must have crystal balls. Nash is the #1 PG in the NBA. Who is to say he won't win a ring?

If or I should say when Amare leaves and Nash stays I for one would be dissapointed because it would basically be another wasted season. This team would either struggle to make the playoffs just to become first round fodder or not make the playoffs but would still be to good for a top lotto pick and most likely end up picking between 10-14.

Yeah I'd love to extend him for a low price and with the understanding that Goran will end up taking a lot of minutes, but if neither can hold true I say trade him to a contender to give him a shot at a ring and to get us some young talent.

As Sun Scorched is saying, Nash is better than most PG's that are in their prime. Nash can win a title. Can the Suns? Probably not. But Nash, he could even basically lead a team to a title.

I think what DDz means is that Nash can't make this current team a contender. Not unless we get a big 3rd piece to add to the Nash and Amare duo, something like a Joe Johnson or someone who can score and defend. I think we have the role player pieces but not the big pieces to make us a contender.

I think we are seeing this team become more of Amares team. Nash is the leader, but Amare is the go to guy. I think the suns let him make the choice in what he wants to do. I know many dont like that, but he is old, and is still playing well for us. If he wants a ring, let him go. But I dont think you are going to get much from him even if he is playing at a high level at this age. Not many teams are going to give much in return.

If I'm a team who is truly on the verge of being a contender but maybe not quite up with the others (let's say Boston), I'll bet the farm on Nash. I know that example doesn't work great because they don't have the young pieces we'd want, but I think with the right partner we could pull in at least a good young player or a high first rounder among other pieces.

Sun Scorched.. Nash with Orlando or Portland can win a title. Nash on this current Suns lineup cannot. I'm not knocking Nash i'm actually saying he can make a few teams 'real' title contenders.

Admittedly, Ive been on Nash's Jock since he was drafted so I hope he never plays for another team his entire career. It hurt me to watch him in Dallas, I remember telling my friends we should trade Marbury for nash. they all thought I was crazy. When I heard we were going after either Kobe or Nash in FA i was thrilled it was Nash and not Kobe that we signed. I never thought he was going to be as good as he ended up here, nobody did... who gets better at that stage in his career. Steve Nash that's who.

He's not the best PG in NBA history as far as a career goes(yet) but his last 6 years in PHX have been the epitome of what a PG should be and are better than any years Stockton ever had.

Granted Steve played in a much more PG friendly system and Era but Nash didnt have Malone either. Stat is great but he's not Karl malone.
