Hey Peeps,
Just a little bored and was sitting here thinking, what quirks do other people have on the basketball court? So anyways, here are my little things that I do, feel free to add some of your own and comment and what people do. Not all quirks or whatever, but stuff that I find interesting to know of other people.
Wear Knee High Socks (Have for 15+ Years)
Wear Elbow brace (for neck pain

) I know..............but it is true.
Always tuck my jersey in (always by pretty much dacking myself as I walk onto court

)
Have A.I.M. on my right shoe and K.H.M. on my left shoe which are the initials of my deceased Brother and Father respectively.
On Court:Free Throw Technique: Wipe both shoes with my hand before, but not if I make 1st 1 of 2. Spin the ball backwards as I walk to the line and touch my right arm (tattoo), bounce the ball 3 times. (I don't like people/team mates giving me 5 in between free throws)
And 1: Put the shoulder of my jersey in my mouth (not sure why, I think I once did it to shut myself up and have ever since

)
That is about it I think, maybe I'll remember something else as other people put theirs up.

Wear low to ankle socks.
Left Elbow pad (shoot right handed)
Don't normally tuck my jersey in.
Been wearing converse shoes for the past two-three years.
On court:
FT: I do a Steve Nash-like routine. I don't do the pre-shooting routine just the three bounces and shoot.
And 1: I just do the "count it" gesture.

I wear regular socks and high tops
Lately been wearing a minor wrist support because of my surgery then subsequently breaking the same wrist last year
Only tuck my jersey in if it's an official league
Free throws, I bounce three times then spin it backwards to myself
And 1, well let's not kid ourselves this is pretty rare for me

but I just look straight ahead and try not to get cocky and miss the ft haha
Which brings me to my next question..what is everyone's style of play?
When I was younger I used to play center because I was tall, now 6'2 isn't so tall anymore so I've slid to PG over the years. I pretty much became pass-first because I had a really awkward shooting touch after the surgery and couldn't hit a groove, but more recently I've developed a pretty workable mid range game and the occasional 3 if I get some breathing room. Still like to pass before I like to shoot, though.

I do the Steve Nash routine at the free throw line. I haven't played in any type of league in a while so I don't have an And 1 gesture.

I wear black knee high socks from eastbay along with my red/black/white hyperizes
I use to wear a shooting sleeve when i was actually the only one in my whole league who wore them but now almost every team has one player who does
For free throws, I do a spin, three bounces, bend down, go up, bend down and shoot.
I'm a 15 year 5'5 or 5'6 point guard who occasionally plays the shooting guard, im a 3 pt specialist with great ball dribbling ability. Had there been a better leader and ball handler I'd definitely prefer to play the 2 but i think i fit the PG position better.

im short, 5'7, so i do the free-throw jumpshot routine to get my low-mid-range game going. i rarely can hit from 3, if ever. i also make sure i run laps like a noob around the court 3 times. low-ankle socks w/ nash nike's low-cuts. play in a gym league. usually more of a defensive guy cuz im short and quick, but can put up 8 to 10 points in a game.
free throw routine... 2 hands through hair (left, then right) and 3 bounces, then i pray and shoot.

lol I don't get the And1 call much either. I'm a small guy so I hardly ever have enough balance for the continuation after getting bumped.
I've never been big enough to play anything bigger than a SG so I've played PG most of my life. In the pickup league where I play, I'm more comfortable playing the 2 because I'm a pretty good 3PT shooter and I have a fair bit of quickness to get myself open. Also I have above-average shooting speed so I can get off a shot with little space, which is great for coming off screens. My dribbling is more flash than substance so I don't play as well at the PG. That being said, I'm more of a pass-first player than a shooter. That being said, I mainly play PG when I play pickup down at the park with my team mates.

I also wipe the sweat off my head before shooting FT's. Gives me extra grip on the ball when I shoot.

lol aussies
Though I'm not a fan of the high 5 either. Don't like to touch anything else when I'm shooting FT's.

personally, i always high 5 everyone - i try to be the first one to pick a teammate up off the ground, or from the bench to high 5 everyone when a timeout is called, or if they make a FT etc - i just thought that was all part of being a good teammate
oh and ill also flagrant foul the crap out of someone who goes after a teammate too

I'm always the first to help a team mate up and high 5 them after calling a timeout as well. Just not at the FT line.

I have pretty much played the 3 since I began playing ball. Some spot time at the 4 and 5 in shorter leagues, but I am not a fan. But having said that, for my height (6'4" and a quarter

) I have a decent dribble so have also played spot minutes at the other two positions too.
As for the way I play, I am more of a slasher than anything, I like to drive and dish or finish with contact. I also love the baseline and tend to do a bit of work a long it. I can post effectively, however, this is more due to stupidity of defenders, I really only have 2 moves in the post that I can use effectively the majority of the time. Other than that, it is more of see what happens when posting up.

I can shoot the 3-ball ok, but a little streaky from time to time. I usually will only take 3 of them throughout a game unless I make at least two of them. But that also depends largely on the situation. The best I have ever shot from 3 is 6 of 7, but 7 is also the most I have ever taken.

That is another thing of mine, I NEVER wear black socks or shoes, I can't stand them.

I never understood the whole shooting sleeve thing, but I suppose it is similar to knee highs. It was similar for me for a while with Knee Highs, I started wearing them before everyone else and then everyone started wearing them, but it has gone a bit back to normal again, especially with the fact that they are harder to find.

Haha, yeah I know, but when I am playing it is all second nature to me. Most of the time I don't even notice it.

That is some funny ish. I hate when KG does it and someone behind him hits both of his fists, it just looks stupid to me.

Yeah same with me. I just don't do it at the free throw line. Often wave people off and feel like a prick after it.

Pretty sure I have done it to you before.
I usually don't high 5 anyone when I am in for rebounds for free throws either in case they are like me.

If they put their hand out it is a different story. I tend to talk a lot to the other rebounders (team mates) when I am in there for rebounding re: rebounding and boxing out, also encouraging the free throw shooter.

I don't ever wear anything different on the court, apart from shoes, and a uni.
My free throw technique is a little weird. I take the ball, bounce it three times, and then bounce in my stance. If you can imagine that, it makes it look like I'm about to shoot, but I'm really only setting myself in, and people seem to always fall for this.
I primarily drive and move around the lane. I'm only 5'8, but I've got a funky shot release, so I've learned to drive it mostly. Bit rusty at the moment playing since I've had some time off, but starting again recently should help shake the cobwebs off.
By the way, good idea for a topic.

Ok for real. dont have much time as I used too, plus I am getting older and slower I think. The mental game is better, but physical is not up to par anymore. Used to be able to throw it down with ease. Now it is hit or miss, mostly miss since I am out of shape.
Anyways, 6' PG, have played that position for 16 years. I think I am a team player, love to pass and see the court. But I also love to shoot and if my team needs a basket, I will create my shot. I like to warm up with mid range shots. Ankle socks, but sometimes plays with knee high black soccer socks for fun. NO arm or head, knee or butt bands for me. Dont like them and I think many wear it to look like an nba player. Its funny to me when I see it on most people.
I have a text book shot. Can shoot with either hand. I love to cross someone over (my best move in HS and college, hence the name) to free up a J or go to the hoop. I play D when I want too, not all the time. I can play off the ball too. Love to rebound and push the ball. I also like the ball in my hand in clutch times to make a pass or shot. I love this game. If there was not a foot of snow an 20 degrees outside, I would be playing right now.
