Stoudemire going free agent this summer. Probably.
Amar'e Stoudemire set to leave the Suns
Amare says he will opt out
Stoudemire has decided to become a free agent
Breaking News: Amar'e Stoudemire to leave the Suns in the Summer
The misleading headlines started when Amare told NBA.com "It's definitely a great time. The timing is perfect as far as being a free agent. But it doesn't determine whether I stay or not."
How does anyone construe that remark to mean he has decided to leave the Suns? One doesn't of course, only mentally twisted or dishonest news reporting outlets do.

Did they say that in the article? I just read like two paragraphs of it. It's mostly crap we already knew anyway like him planning to opt out.

Well I for one am bothered by many of the Wiretap headlines. I've always thought them to be very misleading and overly dramatic. I appreciate the selection of articles they put up, but think they could be a bit more careful with the headline for each, for journalistic integrity's sake.

Amare will stay, we'll re-sign him. They would be out of their minds to let him walk. It's almost worth paying him max just to ensure that you end up with SOMETHING, rather than nothing. Amare, with the way he is playing, is worth max money.

Hate to say it but it isn't looking to good, after hearing his name in trade rumors for three years can we really blame him if he wants a new start?
This team is going to be in trouble if they lose their leading scorer and rebounder but the only person really to blame is Sarver. On the brightside (if you consider it the brightside) this team would most likely have to rebuild, without Amare I have a hard time seeing this team win 30 games next season, even with Nash. Than once Hill retires and than Nash in 2012 this team will probably be bad for awile but can at least rebuild.

Amare and his agent are gonna get PAID if he keeps this up. Helluva time to play the best ball of your career. He hasn't played this well since pre-microfracture. I say we start S&T options because that's the best we can do IMO unless a hometown discount.

S&T wont get you much at all. Look at what Orlando gave Seattle at the time for Lewis? TE and I think 2nd rd pick.

Yeah, that is getting something back in return.
I think the way this front office, like most of the fans have flip flopped on Amare is what will drive him out of town. He has this team backed in a corner and its all in Amares hands. I have always been an amare supporter and fan.........even in the bad times. I see the potential in him if he is made the focal point of this team and we are seeing it again. I want him to stay, but I also (I know this is not good) want him to leave the suns high and dry after what Sarver and Kerr has done the past few years to him.
Remember, what future does this team have outside of Amare that can be a sidekick next to him? Nash is almost done and dragic is a nice player, but not going to be anything close to nash. Unless Sarver will commit to bring in a big name in the 2011 season, I personally would jet to play with Wade or some other super star.
Cant wait to read the spin Sarver and Kerr try to give to the fans if he does leave. I REALLY hope he stays and the suns have to pay him.

Can't say Nash is almost done when he's playing as well or better than he ever has in his career. Usually when a player is reaching the "done" mark they show decline. Nash hasn't.
The Suns FO Will wise-up and re-sign Amare. I have no doubts. When we get to the WCF or Finals they will see how important he is to our team.

this is a calculation by amare and his agents/pr ppl. when one of the fox sports reporters ask him if he is playing the best in his career- the first time aorund- u know what he had nothing to say but after that he has been talking about he is playing his best ball. Amare has played like this before in his career and the question has always been is can he play like that all season and post season. numbers he can accumulate but can he be that leader?
I think this is just another way to rattle sarver and the crew. personally I hope he stays.

Its all sarver & kerrs fault that our team is in this situation now, We could have negotiated that 4 year deal he wanted before he shut down talks to the end of the season and started pwning everyone

One has to wonder whether he would be pwning everyone if he'd gotten that contract.

I think Amare just wants to get some attention out there, since he is playing SO well now. It's up to $arver and Kerr now to be active and resign him if they want Amare in their future plans.

Here is another load of crap from Yahoo: "So long, Amar'e. Next time you see him he'll be in the line with LeBron James, Chris Bosh."

He and his agent would be stupid not to test free agency. We all know he'll explore the market but will PHX match?

I don't think packing up and leaving for $2 million more is much of a motivator considering income taxes eat away a big chunk of it. Considering the amount of money involved a couple million isn't all that significant.
Years, not money is the deciding factor here.

yes, not many relieze that its years not money that plays a factor here, im sure amare would have that contract by now if the current CBA was not expiring
